I don't usually make threads in this forum, but this really stuck out to me and I think it deserves its own thread. You can state your opinion but if it is a negative one don't bother You, sir, are a brilliant man. You've summarized almost everything that's dragging the boards down, and you've done it in just fourteen friendly, easy-to-understand words. Those words speak volumes of the flocks of folks who eagerly get offended by anything they don't approve of, and the eggshells the rest of us have to walk on. They speak volumes of the conspicuous attacks that tend to strike on often gentle sarcasm and steer clear of far less appropriate humor. They speak volumes of the downright silly yet still prevalent mindset that anything that can be construed (rightly or not) as negative is analogous to absolute hate, and of the laughably ignorant label of 'hater' that's so effective at shutting people up because they know making a well-thought-out rebuttal would just be ignored. They even hint at the attitude that what you're saying pales in importance to who you are, and how long you've been registered is a good meter stick for knowledge, know-how, or...well...anything, really. They are quite clearly words of genius. Your insight is well worthy of applause, and I'd like to offer my thanks for posting them in this forum. Here's to another seven months of exemplary posts just like that one.  |
