I don't recommend watching this vid via YouTube, because the framerate is reduced. Sucks.
I know Crackout likes the standard white polly type 6 from the other guy. As well as I. But I don't know if that is the string he was using. I'd say it probably was 
James is right. It looks fat because the sun directly shined into the room and the white string reflected that into the camera (Canon Ixus 580).
