I found a computer at work that ran Windows 95 and had Chessmaster 3000 on it. I wasted a lot of time on my lunch and extended breaks and learned that I suck at chess.

dude, upgrade to Chessmaster 10th edtion.  I kinda suck in the competitive chess world, but I proud to say that I placed third in my division in a Las Vegas National Open Chess Tournament. EDIT: Also won a prize of $500 |

I wanna bring this back, I started playing chess about two months ago, learnin all the openings and such. I'm still unrated, our school coach says I'm about a 950 right now though... going to nationals next week too!

there has been a revival of chess in my house recently. the unfortunate part is that my roomates are drinkers and their minds are clouded, so its not much of a challenge for me.  |

i've been playing a good bit of online chess the past year or more and started a weekly chess club at my school. i'm not good by chess standards, but games against casual players are usually easy. i'm just now starting to get into studying opening theory and the like. goal is to get my rating into the 1000s within the next couple months. does anyone here have a chess.com account and would like to play a game?
