Okay, so I got my n-threads today from Namtaro. They came packaged and organized with a happy little note of thanks. My first reaction to seeing these things was "wow, that's a good looking string." Then I put them on my Speeder and well...I'm gonna try to keep this short...
Playability 10/10 Alright so the size of these strings is perfect. Nam cuts them a little longer than Brazillian Mondos if you've ever played those. Also, the thickness of the string is about the same as a highlight, but they're like 3x softer. Now the weird thing about these strings that made them really stand out to me and really made me fall in love with them is weight. You heard me. These things are noticeably heavy. Not a bad thing! It makes slack much easier to control, but I'll get to that later. They feel great on your fingers; there's no string burn issue and they're big enough that you can feel exactly where they are. They're also kind of slick and are very easily to adjust if they're not in the exact place on your finger you'd like them to be.
Durability 10/10 Yeah, I played with these things for about 45 minutes straight and the only problem was that the string tension was off a little. I mean, there's a little fray going on, but only if you literally put your eyes 2 inches away from it. So yeah, freaking awesome.
Color 10/10 These things look spectacular. Even my mom commented on them and my mom hates that I'm 19 years old, still live with my parents and play with yoyos. I'm most partial to the light creamy pink. It looks great on my speeder, but the other colors I got are great too (Zzebra, Blue Angles, Creamy Yellow and Dark Creamy Pink). The colors are very vibrant and pop a lot. Really no surprise here considering how great they look in the pictures. They definitely look better in person, though.
Slack 10/10 As I said in my last string review, there's 2 parts to how well a string slacks. Well, these strings changed my mind about that. Now I'm pretty sure there's 3. Firstly, there's how well the string holds a slack loop. Then there's how easy it is to physically hold the string in place so the slack doesn't slip. And third, how easy the loop is to control. This string does all three of those things better than anything I've ever played. No exaggeration. I found that with these strings, I can just throw them in any direction and I mean ANY direction and I can just guide that slack wherever I want it to go. I came up with several new ideas from tricks just doing that. Unbelievable.
Overall 10/10 Okay, I really can't stress just how amazingly good these strings are. Nam only charges 25 cents each, so you've got nothing to lose even if you just grab a few, but believe me, you're going to wish you got more. I really don't even know what to say. I don't think there's anything other to say than buy some. Best strings I've ever used.

Thanks for posting the review. I'd like to know how these strings hold tension, too. Also, I am very skeptical -I think you should reconsider your rating system. Usually 10/10 means that the product being reviewed is the best of the best in that category. So these strings have THE BEST colors you've ever seen? And they are MORE DURABLE than, say, Angel Hair? And the thickness doesn't cause them any playability issues?

well, as I said in my brazillian mondo review, I don't think there is really any string (nor is there any yoyo or anything else in the world) that its so good that its worth abandoning everything else in its category so I like having lots of different strings with me all the time. also, yes, you're right. maybe my rating system needs to be explained.. I wouldn't say that the 10/10 on colors, for example, means they're the best in the world when it comes to color. I'm talking about the quality of them in general in among other things, expectation versus product, etc etc. in terms of the way the colors were picked and the quality of the pigments themselves. and besides that, who is anyone in the world to say "wow, those are the best colors ever to be on a yoyo string" when there's always the possibility that not everyone who yoyos and makes their own strings posts on this or any other board every time they make a new string color combination. its really an impossible thing to gauge, but I can say that I enjoyed the quality of the colors more than any other string I've owned. as far as tension, I don't find myself adjusting it a lot. certainly less often as I do with brazillians and slightly less often than highlights, but that's probably because of the length difference. durability compared to angel hair, I have no idea. the angel hair thing seems kind of silly to me that you have to play with a string for like half an hour til it breaks in, then its amazing at slack and string burn until it either wears out or the loop doesn't stay on your finger and your yoyo goes flying into a window. and the thickness is one of my favorite parts. my main player is a yoyojam speeder, siliconed on the o-ring half, clean KK bearing and two red YYJ shims. before I used these strings, I couldn't do the ending in white buddha with any of my yoyos except for my k-os (I recently replaced the worn out silicone with the stock o-ring, kk bearing, no shims). it gets the snag in white buddha pretty easily, and I hardly ever get unintentional snags. less snags than I get with highlights. so yeah, this is an editorial, not a scientific analysis. maybe the next time I have some cash and feel like buying a ton of yoyo strings to compare them to each other, I'll post a scientific analysis. (not sarcasm, btw.)

I received this cool little pack of string from Nam. Firs I'd like to say he know's how to make his product look good. The string came packed neatly folded, labled, description added, all in a nice sealed string size zip bag. For someone to take that much time to package his product it says a lot, 1 he's proud of his work, 2 he wants you to enjoy his labor. I recently tested some Twista String, as for a comparison, well there is none. The only thing that is the same is, they both are used for yo-yoing. Twista string is hard, N-Threads is soft. Twista string has hard colors, N-Threads is soft pastel. The hardness of the Twista string helps keeps slack loops wide, take a little more effort with the N-Threads. Both are great, its all up to your taste. The other thing I'd like to note is N-Threads is the closest thing to G-String I've ever felt. Perhaps they use the same material. All in all i'd say it's a compliment for both G-String and N-Threads.

I've tryed with black...it's pretty cool, but I have to finish my orders before I so some more new string colors, and I have alot of colors waiting to be put up on the website. And I don't use a rig at all. I have my carpet and 2 weights to hold down the "banana holder" it has a shape like this And a yoyo to hand spin it. I also have tryed using a Drill and I do have a rig for it ( so it makes 4 strings at a time ) ~Nam Nguyen •◄
