Twista String Review
« on: December 19, 2007, 06:41:41 PM »

yup yup, i got it a few days ago, and ive been playing with it to see how it plays.

i got two types, twista 68 and twista metalic. lets start with metalic.

yup. some kinda shiny metal thingy inside. looks really cool

first impression: HARRRRRRRRRD.

ive never played angel hair, but im guessing this is how it feels.

slack was kinda good, but i didnt like how it felt on my hands. good for building calouses

then, he told me to break it in, i did. it kinda plays a little better now, not my type of thing to tell you the truth, sorry.

im sure this will last like a year on a platic though, and atleast like a month on a metal, lol

Now, on the other hand....TWISTA 68. 68 percent poly, feels AWSOME

a little more stiff than normal poly, but not too stiff, so it feels normal, really cool feeling.

it doesnt kill your hands, but its not REALLY soft, right in the middle

the looks are really cool too.

slack? perfect. i think its sustains slack longer than normal, cus its a little harder.

the length is plenty also, i love this

Twista string reveiw
« Reply #7 on: December 20, 2007, 03:40:38 AM »

well i got some a while ago, and now i'm going to do a reveiw as promised.

when i first saw it, i thought it looked great, which it does. all shiney and what not. but when i touched it i thought "what the hell is this?" the string is VERY stiff. i mean very stiff. it's very weird stuff. i'm not sure if you can call it string. it's more like a thin rope to me. binds are very weird as well. you know when you do a bad bind and get a knot, and the yoyo comes up really snapy and doesn't slip at all? that's what it feels like every time you bind.

though this did get much better when it broke in. i think i broke it in. it's still really hard and stiff, and hurts your hands. i don't know, maybe  it's just me, but i did not like this string at all. the colors were awesome, but it is some very odd srting/rope.

not trying to dis anyone here, but just giving my honest thoughts.

Grade: F

This string on the other hand was very nice. it was a tiny bit stiff at first, but broke in nicly and is still going very strong, after having it for about a week or so. it's still holding very strong. it's not as soft as some other string. but it's good none the less. the binds are normal, nice and tight, but not.... like the other stirng. and since it's a TINY bit stiff, the slack holds it's shape really well. it doesn't twist up too easily. it's good string. i just wish it was a brighter color.

Play: A

color: D needs to be brighter. or not red.

overall grade: b+ (can't knock it down over color that much. if it was brighter color then i've give an A)

good job making the string!  Afro

Twista String Review
« Reply #11 on: December 29, 2007, 11:59:34 AM »

A few weeks back I received two Twista strings to review. My apologies for not getting the review done sooner.

At first the string feels really hard. That quickly dissipated after about an hour of play. After that initial hour the string started to feel really good between the fingers.

By far the most positive thing about the string is how well it holds slack loops. This is by far the best loop holder I’ve played with. If your into slack moves your in for a treat.

The negatives are at both ends of the string. At the finger loop the string does not keep a tight lock onto your finger. This is only in the break in period. At times it felt as though the yo-yo was about to slip off your finger.

At the yo-yo loop the string would bunch some creating some un-welcome response. Again this only happened at the break in period

Longevity? Well this one I can’t answer just yet. After 3 days of play it seems to be holding up quite well.

Bottom line, the string acts like a well tuned yo-yo, after you break in the product the play is worth the effort. I will be purchasing a few more string. My slacks are improving for sure.

OK DUDES AND OTHER DUDES XP

I got a test pack too =P but i got two diffrent types of string, Mini T and ( i think there called ) Twista Thick << correct me on this please =P

PLEASE THIS IS MY FIRST EVER REVIEW SO DON"T BE TOO HARSH ON ME PLEASE Wink

I'm Going to add Photos SOON

MINI-T

The Mini T I'm going to do a review on first....All i have to say is that THERE REALLY REALLY THIN.

OK i put this on my TFL88 ( He said that these are best on mini yoyos and yoyos that have a smaller gap...

BUT my TFL with Ipads are fine with the thinner string =D

It plays like any other string BUT less string burn AND the string doesn't feel like it's even there =O

I like it alot BUT one problem NOT good at slacks and stuff like that ._. it just too light to get a whip going too. ALSO the color is jsut a plain white/yellowish tint....The color COULD have been better Wink

THEN i tryed it on my Dif-E-Yo Tank with both thin Dif-pads and slips like CRAZY

Tested it on my Pyro light ( I'm sure you all know that the gap size isn't that big compared to most yoyos YET is still slips a little bit BUT way less then the Tank.

I like it for the lesser string burn and light feel it has but i think this would only go with "mini" yoyos

Twista Thick

Yup you guessed it, it's more thick then most strings ( more thicker then Highlites )

I tryed it on my TFL first. Kinda snaggy but not alot.

When i first touched it, it was really stiff but he told me to break it in so i did ( played it for an hour ) then it got softer =D

IT'S PERFECT FOR SLACKS, WHIPS, AND LATERATIONS!!!!

It holds a loop really good!

I like it alot but just gives major string burn XP

NOW i tryed it with my Pyro Light, ALOT MORE SNAGGY but not to the point that it's tug responsive.

That's all i have to say about your strings  Afro

I would give the Mini-T's a B+ not a A because it's only good with some yoyos

I would give the Thick a A- Just a wee bit too thick ( but i guess that's what it's meant to do )

BUT it's PERFECT for slacks  Afro
