Imagine a user controlled variable starburst which can be firmly set to the extremes of response and everywhere in between. A yo-yo with more response settings than every yo-yo made in the last 5 years combined. No tools or need to take the yo-yo apart to adjust, just the turn of a dial on either side of the yo-yo. Turn it RIGHT for more response, more spin generation, the ability to regenerate without a bind, to reach for the moon or even for someone just starting out with yo-yos. Turn it to the LEFT for less response, less friction, longer spins, bind only response whips, slack, lacerations whatever the advanced player wants to throw at it.

If you don't like starburst, easy, most common pads will fit in the response area, or switch it to a rubber starburst. Try a simple mod like sanding the shuttle!

Even when you find 'your spot' things change. Pads wear, string gets skinny or the weather gets windy or 'sticky'. For once you can take control! The mechanism that allows the adjustments is precise to 1/750th of an inch, the thickness of a human hair. These micro adjustments will keep you playing at your best whatever the situation.

Sometimes it's your mood that changes, slow it down, play responsive, be smooth. Then change it up, bind it or it isn't coming back, at the turn of the dials. Want to try different response options or combinations? Easy, the starburst areas can be ejected meaning in you pocket could be a new 'shuttle' this time rubber. Luckily you got 4 shuttles (2 in the yo-yo and 2 spare) so you have tried it with starburst both sides, rubber shuttles both sides and 1 and 1 and can switch back and forth at a whim.

I think the shape just makes the gap look bigger... You can't get much bigger than the 401K's gap with a small bearing.
