Here it is...
Born from a failed project to release an all plastic yo-yo the dial technology was salvaged and put on a metal body. In 2005 YoYoFactory released its first Fully Adjustable Starburst Technology yo-yo, the F.A.S.T. 401k. This yo-yo went on to become a hit for YoYoFactory, discontinued only so YoYoFactory could pursue other innovations. Now the Dial has turned. Adjustable is BACK!

• Available in Flourecent Yellow and Green with dorothy bearing
• Available in Black, White, Clear, and with fluro accents with stainless steel bearing

Also - it's way cool to see something with THIS much technology in:
A) Plastic form
B) $20 price range

I've not been this excited about a yoyo in a long time haha.

I heard somewhere that these have a bit deeper recess than the speed dial (more range on the dials), meaning dead response is more easily achievable. Is this indeed true Ben?

I was actually going to go around and ask that exact question when it comes to this. will it have a deeper recess ability? because when I took a look at the green one where it lays there, i thought to myself "will it be able to achieve that recess or do we have to mod it?"

..if that is true, ben needs to immediatly disregard the speedial, put this is full throttle production and prepare for hungry yoyoers to gobble them up.

Yes sir, white ones will be nice for dyeing as well.

Which would defeat the purpose of a deeper recess in a sense, would it not?

With a clean or dorothy bearing and any modern string they stock yo-yo will not respond to anything you can throw at it (if that is how you choose to play).

The dial parts are slightly different to the Speed dial parts and yes, they recess further into the body.

While on the topic of the SpeedDial. The gap has now grown on it also and all future shipment giving it similar play charactristics to those described above. There is also an alternate smaller package you will see it it.

The Velocity dial will also be used on the 401sd due for release early 08. this is the long awaited replacement for the 401k.
