Ok, so a couple days ago my Velocity started to slip on me all of a sudden. I really like it, so I wanted to come up with a way to keep it as a main player without having it slip on me every 20 throws or so. So, to fix my problem, I thought of a process to fix it.
1. Instead of having to change to thicker string or buy a new bearing(kk or bc maybe) make sure to keep your string and hands clean. This will prevent your string from getting thin and or slippery and falling off the bearing.
2. take your yo-yo apart, put the bearing on the non- axle side, and screw together as tight and far as the axle will allow.Hopefully it should decrease alot of your slipping problems.
3. Stay away from fully recessed dials. This gives the string more room to slide around and potentially slip off the bearing. Tune the dials up a bit more, not necessarily responsive, but enough so it's fairly grippy.
4. Believe it or not, try not to angle your throw ( sideways tricks) it makes the string rub up on the walls of the yo-yo, and increases slipping. Newer players, work on straightening your throw, for the same reason.
This method greatly helped me with my Velocity, hopefully it will work with yours. I just was hoping to help someone out.
Thanks
Alex

Besides the ladies love it because it shoots sparks and refers to their genitalia.

I have to disagree with the part about the clean string, my Velocity slipped on the third throw. The string was brand new. I put a kk in it that first day and it has not slipped on me again since.

Well, mine hasn't slipped since I did this, I guess I got lucky.

Steps 2, 3, and 4 seem like common sense to me. While step 1 seems like a way to keep your string thick, which is harder than buying a couple hundred thicker strings... EDIT: And harder than buying a string centering bearing.
