What exactly IS string rejection!?

I've seen vids of it, but I can't seem to understand, on a technical level, what a string rejection is.

Can anyone explain, please?

when you take the spin of the yoyo, and force the string to pop out with force to throw it or make it fly out

Step 1: breakaway.

Step 2: Roll the yoyo over once as if to do a basic bind.

Step 3: thrust throwhand forward in flamboyant manner.

Watch as the string is thrown out of the gap.

I was just about to say the same, I thought magic drop was a "string rejection" that most people do after a while. Also when you drop the yoyo from a pinch into a wrist mount that's sort of a string rejection? The string snaps away from the yoyo anyway. If you know the trick Haddock lets say, you know what I'm talking about.

here is a video I did that showcased a few of my earlier rejection tricks. There are a few different ones in there so keep your eyes open. The first one appears at 00:42 and the same one repeated at 00:51 in slo-mo, watch the string as it "jumps" off of the yo-yo due to the spin. The double 1.5 thing at 1:01 is also a rejection, as I pull the string away from the yo-yo the spin spits the string out for the dismount to trapeze. The next from wrist mount at 1:18, rejects the string and whips it all the way around to remount the yo-yo, again repeated in slo-mo.

Oh. I get it. I've definitely done that a few times while improvising (not well). But yeah, I'm gonna go spend the next two weeks of my life nailing this concept down because its totally B.A. when done well, a la Mark132's video...
