OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT!

The 1st Annual New York State Yo-Yo Contest and International Yo-Yo Open is officially scheduled for August 11, 2007, in New York, New York!

For the first time, world-class yo-yo talent will take the stage deep in the heart of the Big Apple!

Location:  Pier 17 of New York’s South Street Seaport – a thriving community on Lower Manhattan's historic waterfront and the perfect showcase for entertainment, education, and eye-popping yo-yo ability.  (www.southstreetseaport.com)

Online pre-registration will be mandatory! Stay tuned for official website.

NYC ACCOMMODATIONS:

We recommend that you book your accommodations in New York City as early as possible!

We have a limited number of rooms already reserved at the Hotel Pennsylvania (special group rates - www.hotelpenn.com), and a limited number of beds reserved at the Chelsea International Hostel (normal rates - www.chelseahostel.com). Both of these are cost-effective accommodations convenient to many of New York City’s top attractions.

Team Box Super Amazing Awesome Worlds – New York States Tour

Hey everybody, are you ready for the coolest yo-yoing summer EVER? You're not, but lets plan for it anyway!

As we all know, New York States was just announced, being headed by Pat, Tim, Weber, and Amy, four of the coolest cats ever. Definitely NOT a contest to miss. It's the Saturday AFTER Worlds, the 11th. But you say, Boxthor, how do we pass the time between contests? Simple.

Join Team Box USA Members Boxthor, Jake Bullock, Drew Tetz, as well as others, in enjoying the east coast of the United States, while spending quality time with yo-yoers cooler than you!

Wednesday Aug 1st – Saturday Aug 4th, WORLDS!
Watch the best yo-yoers in the world compete! That's why you're coming in the first place, yes?

Sunday Aug 5th – Worlds Chill Day.
The contests are over, the winners are announced, everyone is exhausted. This is the day that everybody just relaxes around the hotel and chills. Learn tricks from your favorite players, and maybe, with a little practice, you'll be able to match up to them next year!

Monday, Aug 6th – Epcot
Join Team Box for exploring the Epcot Center. What is Epcot? It's like the entire world, shrunk down into a size that you can tour in about a day~ See a mini eiffel tower, cruise chinatown, eat gelato in a small Italian bar, all of that neat stuff~

Tuesday, Aug 7th – Animal Kingdom
What do you get when you mix Disney, the Sahara, and tons and tons of animals? Animal Land! Go on a Safari, see cool animals, watch Boxthor try to talk his way into feeding the penguins.  I bet they have octopi!

Wednesday, Aug 8th – NEW YORK CITY, BOY
You'll never have a bored day this summer. We check out of our Florida hotel, and leisurely board Jet Blue Flight 56 at 11:40am, and make our way to JFK airport. Come along, we can play airport tag! We're sitting in the back row of the plane. Jet Blue is only $99, one of the cheapest flights available, and a deluxe airline to boot.

So we get in New York, check into our hotel, and chill out for a while. That night we check out Times Square, the HUUUUGE Toys R Us, The M&Ms 4 story shop, and then we get the INFAMOUS Halal.
What is “Halal”? The best darned street food you'll ever have ever. I guarantee.

After we stuff ourselves silly, go back to the hotel and relax. It IS a vacation, yo!

Thursday Aug 9th – Shopping
We'll be hitting up some awesome places, including China Town and 5th Avenue. Want to dress like your favorite yo-yoers? Get some awesome bapestas at the OFFICIAL Bathing Ape store, some luscious denim at Blue on Green, and even more at the thousands of shops around. Meanwhile, we will stuff ourselves silly with even more food, including the world renowned Grey's Papaya hot dog stand, some of the best pizza in the world, Rice to Riches, the world's ONLY rice pudding shoppe, and countless bakeries. Also possible is a group trek over to the Daft Punk concert. Who knows!

Friday Aug 10th – SECRET SURPRISE
There is something secret planned for Friday, you'll only find out once we get there!

Saturday Aug 11th – New York States!
Are you ready for one of the biggest yo-yo contests ever? Are you ready for a huge stage, media coverage, flashing lights, the adoration of thousands of people watching?* It'll be big, and you don't want to miss it.

Sunday Aug 12th – Chillllll
It's been almost 2 weeks, but the Summer of 07 is coming to a close, and the yoyo events have. Relax, get back to your airports, and fly home.


You definitely don't want to miss out, they'll be talking about this one for years to come.
