I wouldn't exactly call a list of yoyos in a particular order, "thoughts" per say, but I digress.

Out of all the CLYWS i've played, playwise, I'd say the 3rd run peaks, avalanches, and USA Chiefs, fit my playstyle the best, BUT, performance wise, the Sasquatches, Gnarwhals and Chiefs, are all excellent yoyos as well.

I wouldn't really put any of them above one another in terms of quality and design, because they're all excellent in both regards, it's really just a preference thing.

It is in contrast to CLYWs other offerings as well. I guess it's hard to order them without stirring up some disputes. It's only low relative to the other great yoyos. I've only played a first run chief and an Avalanche so I'm in no position to offer my opinion.

Thanks for addressing my previous post guys. I'm still going to get one eventually.

Chief
3rd Run Peak
1st Run Peak
Bassalope
Canvas
Sasquatch
Avalanche
2nd Run Peak
Gnarwhal
Bear vs. Man
(Wooly markmont)
Wooly Marmot
Campfire
(Galactic goose)

Played and owned them all...still own all but the galactic goose...

Wow bassalope is high. I have played the goose but not the wooly markmont. Goose was ok...I didn't like the rims at all.

Ya i dont care for the galactic goose. i wanted it so bad and still love the colorway (got the orange one) and i love the artwork. but the rim sucks. it always pulls on the string cause of the reverse step. awesome look. not to practical.

id go out on a limb and say its in contrast to stability.
not to say the marmot isnt a beast on its own merit.

Yup, feels the least stable to me of all the CLYW except for maybe the Campfire.  It's got a lot of other nice things going for it though, comfortable shape, great grinder, readily available and great selection of colors.

SB Bass is easily one of the best yoyos I've ever had the honor of owning and throwing. Secondly would come the Wooly Markmont, which imo destroys every other yoyo that has ever been on the market or is currently on the market. Simply the greatest yoyo ever made, once again, imo.

Wooly Markmont and Galactic Goose are missing. I know you've tried a galactic goose, but maybe not a Markmont. Collaboration throws count too!

The only reason I ranked the Wooly marmot so low is because of stability. I love the size and shape of it, but you have to pay more attention to it to keep it stable. Now the second run is about 1 gram heavier than the first, which helps with the stability. And I hear the changes made to the wooly markmont were to help the stability.

I also play my wooly marmot with a center trace or a concave, which makes it a lot more stable.

Its an amazing yoyo, just personal preference.

I kept the Wooly Marmot low on my list because I like fuller sized yoyos. But yeah clyw makes beastly throws no doubt.

I find the small bearing and thin response a pain. I got too lazyto take care of my bassalope, so I sold it.

changing the pads every couple of months was that much of a pain you sold it?

Bassalope is grossly underrated in my opinion. Super fun throw that just gets shoved under the radar, which is a shame because it's so boss.

Oh, and in response to the other question, I haven't gotten to try neither the Canvas nor the Chief so I can't comment on either. The Chief does look like something that would be right up my alley though. I just haven't come across a colorway that I like enough yet to detract from my current collecting efforts. I guess once I'm satisfied with my YYR collection, then my ILYY collection, I can maybe try and get ahold of a Chief.

I find the small bearing and thin response a pain. I got too lazyto take care of my bassalope, so I sold it.

Get a LB, totally different yoyo, way better

Oh, this thread is lists?  I like lists!

Peak
Gnarwal
LB Bass
Marmot
Bear v. Man
Squatch
Campfire
SB Bass

Haven't played most of the newer stuff.  TBH, I've never been head-over-heels for CLYW, and find the incessant praise somewhat mystifying.

I like the fact that everyone’s list is different, just goes to show how big a role preferences play.

I really love my Wooly Marmot, but I'm kinda scared to use it too much.

See, it's a black on black splash and it's still smooth. So it's a color I love, and it's a yo-yo that I haven't beaten the smooth out of yet.

I know if I really give it any love then it will die a quick death, just like everything else. And I'd kinda like this one to last.

Conundrum!
