Been thinking about picking one of these up for the first throw I will have had in awhile. It looks to be in the same size category as the 888 but one millimeter thinner. Just wonder if what peoples thoughts are on it.

While I agree that SPYY Is underrated, there are also many yoyo companies that are MORE underated. That being said, You cannot go bad with a SPYY yoyo. They have some of the smoothest yoyos out there, as well as some of hte best grinding surfaces.

Got mine today and it is definitely a win. I loved the first Spyder as well but the pad response has become inferior to the responses that have been popular the past year or 2. The profile is very comfortable to throw, it is smooth as ice and true to the rep of the original Spyder as a great grinder, it palm and finger grinds like a beast and the dual thumb grind lips are fun to play with. I got the reverse splashed blue and silver one and it looks great.
As of late I have been favoring my larger diameter throws but the Spyder 2 came as a refreshing and fun break.
disclaimer: I am somewhat of a Spyy fanboy, but really whats not to love about a Spyy throw?

I got mine a few days ago, and I have really been enjoying it. The binds where a bit laggy, so I switched the factory response out with yellow pro-pads. Besides this minor flaw, it is a really great throw. It is very easy to place during tech tricks due to the excellent shape and weight placement, but is also capable of high speed play and big whips, slacks and suicides. I would say that my favorite feature of this yoyo is the unusual wall shape. It is a continuous curve that starts out vertical, steps away from the gap and ends where the rims begin. This makes it much more capable of horizontal play than other yoyos with similar shapes.

I dont like undersized, but this thing is good. Much more stability than first Spyder (ok, 4 years later...) and great overall. I really like it.

Couldn't agree more! SPYYs play as good or better than anything on the market, they spin smooth and sleep forever plus most are damn stable to boot. Most have great matador spikes and a top notch grinding finish for the outside the box throwers. On top of all that they look AWESOME! I can't think of an area that the average SPYY yoyo is lacking in (except maybe hype).

My buddy just picked one up, it plays great, a lot of fun. Good spikes for matador play as well. Feels very solid on the string, but not slow. Stable. I dig it.

Well after my Skywalker arrives. And the cash flow bumps up again this will probably be my next purchase.
