What age did you start

Hi I'm 28 yrs old and have only just started to learn yoyoing it's something I always wanted to learn so am giving it a go. However a few people have said they are jus for kids and that I am to old to be playing with yoyos, I know this is not true as there is no age limit to having fun with a yoyo. So my question is this, how old were you when you started yoyoing?

I picked it up about 2 months before my 18th birthday, I was looking for something to keep my busy during the summer, and lacrosse off season, little did I know that yoyo would outlast lacrosse. I'm 21 now.

I was 24 when I started. I had been playing with a proyo II for sometime as a kid, so that I could perform rock the baby on my first day .

It was only a year ago, but it already feels nostalgic. You're definitely not too old to pick up a childrens toy.

12 was when I started.  I quit between the ages of 14 and 16. Started up aging my junior year of highschool (age 16/17) and I'm 18 now.

I started when I was 17, it was something to keep me occupied as a doorman at a movie theater, now I'm 21. Its been a good 4 years

Depends on when I started throwing...

First picked up a yoyo at 11 during the '90s boom: first yoyo was a Tornado. Eventually I got a Bee GT and a Viper, but within 6 months I had forgotten all about it.

At 18, I thought of yoyos randomly again, bought a Dragonfly, and had fun doing Split the Atom and Stop n Go for a month.

At 24, I found a yoyo on a table at a party, started doing Split the Atom and Stop n Go again. Found my old Dragonfly, and within a week, I had bought a Northstar to learn about the newfangled unresponsive mode of play. One year later, I'm still throwing, and I have no intention of stopping soon.

 I started when I was 40. Im quite immature though, basically a 'man sized' child, and I love it, age is a state of mind.
 When people give you the 'yoyos are for kids.', just reply thats the reason why you love it so much.
 Have fun and worry about no one elses opinion, at the end of the day, what some other person think matters so little.

PS: I might mention I started throwing 1a unresponsive last year, my 40th, but I have always played with yoyos, just didn't realize there was so much more to it than a few loops.
 I have so much fun with it, I can hardly believe it. I yoyo at least an hour or two or three a day.

Started at 26 and I'm 28 now.  I doubt I could ever get as good as some of these younger guys who yo-yoed throughout their formative years, but I'm pretty happy with where I am skill-wise.

I bought an orange Duncan Imperial and messed with it for a few months when I was like 9 but then forget about it and yoyos in general for a few years. Somebody at school had a Duncan Speed Beetle so I asked to try it, I liked it so I bought a new yoyo which was a Dark Magic 2 and learned most of my early tricks with it. I was 14 then (it was last May or April) and I'm still 14 but I'll be 15 at the end of the month  I really can't believe how much practice pays off, I've gotten so much better in just the 9 months or so I've been throwing.

I started at 14 my freshman year of HS with Tom Kuhn's back in 1990.  I am now 35 but I took a good deal of time off.  I have always had a cigar box filled with yoyo's though.  Now I have a case filled with yoyos!!!
