What's your favorite colorway?

Hello, and welcome to another one of my pointless threads everyone seems to hate. I haven't really made any new threads in a while so I thought I should stir the YYN pot.


What's your favorite colorway(s)?

If you'd like to add more, feel free to include why you like it, and if it's yoyo-specific (meaning that you like a colorway on one yoyo, but not another).


For me:
1. Jack Rabbit
2. Eerie Lake/Northern Lights
3. Pollock
4. Thunderstorm

IMO, One Drop and CLYW just kill when it comes to sick looking yoyos.

Flat color or a basic acid wash. It really depends on wether or not it looks good on the yoyo. For example, I really like OneDrop for their basic color range, but don't like that they and C3 jumped into the splash and acid wash bologna. I think they look so much better in nice flat colors.

But things like the Ronin and other snazzy yoyos, they look really pretty with a nice acid wash, such as black or blue. Nothing too extreme, otherwise it looks like throwup.

So I guess my favorite really depends, though my current favorites that I have right now are my black acid wash Ronin, Superhero Spyder, and grey Chief (which to me is by far the best colorway for the Chief. Splash doesn't really look good on it.)

When it comes to least favorites, I'd say a lot of the stuff MonkeyFinger, C3, and YoyoFactory makes is on that list. Monkeyfinger colorways are incredibly busy and detract from the yoyo. C3 and YoyoFactory are on the same page by having splashes over complex laser engravings. Take a look at the purple/black acid wash with clear splash SuperNova with the engravings. It's just way too busy, and the engraving over clear splash detracts from pretty much every facet of the yoyo's look.

Its all really up to what color is on what yoyo. Some can pull things off and some can't.

My absolute favorite is just the single color throws that C3 makes. I love the shine and I love the feel. My number one pick would be the green on the Darkstar.

I'm a huge fan of solid colors with silver splash.

light solid colors because they are easy to see and don't hide the shape or metal of the yoyo. right now I am feeling pink, mint, clear, and copper.
