Question concerning an old yo-yo I can't recall the name of.
« on: February 01, 2012, 06:55:33 PM »

Hello Yoyonation,

My name is Eric and I used to yo-yo when I was around twelve for a couple of years but then quit. Just recently I was at Target and picked up a yo-yo from the dollar bins and it has been somewhat nostalgic for me. I have been having a lot of fun with this cheap yo-yo but I am trying to remember an old yo-yo I had. The old one I had was made of metal, and it was painted forest green and looked like a fancy car rim. I want to say the company was pro mag or something like that but I can't find it anywhere on the internet. So I am asking you guys if anyone knows what yo-yo I am talking about and where I can buy one if I still can. Thanks in advance.

Eric

Custom Yo-Yo Mag

They're out of production to my knowledge but I think some stores have some old stock lying around.  I'd google search or post in the Buy/Sell/Trade forum here since some people might still have them

Thanks for the help Nathan, that is exactly what the company was. Unfortunately they don't make the yo-yo I was interested in anymore. Any recommendations on what would be a good yo-yo to get buy to start yo-yoing again? I don't want something metal though, a little cheaper, probably in the range from 10-20 dollars. I want to start doing some tricks again.

Take a look at the Yoyofactory One, it comes with a slim bearing and a regular bearing for unresponsive or responsive play.  Also check out the Yoyojam Kickside, one of the best yoyos you can find ofr 15 dollars.

Try to get something responsive if you can. I'm not sure, but I think the One ships with both bearings now.
