personally I have owned a number of bearings, and while I can honestly say that the 10 ball is the second best i own, however its my third favorite. here is my list of bearings:
1)ceramic konkave (I love this because its both very smooth and it corrects my throw when I mess up, however its not as quiet as I would have expected)
2) born crucial grooved bearing (I like this bearing because there is the same correction factor but it isnt incredibly smooth)
3) 10 ball (I love this bering when I throw well, however I havnt been able to consistently get enough playtime to correct my throw so its not the best bearing for me right now)

IMO I think that if you throw really well the 10 ball is the better option, however if you aren't always on the money with your throws a kk or grooved bearing might suit you better.

@ Doug, lube or Dont Lube that's the question.  10 balls come lubed and require a good break in period, or a cleaning.  a Cleaned 10 ball sounds just like a YYF Bearing.  and a Lubed YYF Bearing sounds lubed 10 Ball.

Terrapins Do sound difference as they are Ceramic balls, stainless Races, and no Lube have a special chemical process to them.  so they are always loud.
Terrapin X S/C ceramics are not loud. They are high speed precision dry bearings. You can hear them but they are not loud
Comparing a lubed bearing to a TX S/C is like comparing a soccer mom van to a Formula 1.

So based on that analogy a TX S/C is REALLY loud compared to the lubed bearings many of us are used to?

They are not made for beginners nor people who throw in a library.
Other then that it's just speculation and hear say from a bias review.
People that actually buy them get more, some as many as 20.
But yes TX S/C will blow the doors off of any bearing so many of you may be used to.

I would have to say ceramic kk or a ten ball kk (im not sure what they are made of)
The ceramic gives a grey solid feel, very steady and sleeps long (as previously stated)
But, like others said, with the ten ball kk you get the best of both worlds (as miley would say xD)

I don't think it's the centering effect that makes it feel different I think it is the bearing. Saying that all bearings feel the same is a bit extreme. While the placebo effect might play some role I think the bearings themselves make a difference. I noticed my Dv888 felt heavier with a center track before I saw people posting about it on the forums.

DUDE if you can feel the Wieght Difference in a DV888 with different Bearings, you have one of the most insane and most useless talents I ever heard of!
Ive noticed throws feeling lighter on the string when i throw a ceramic kk in them.  i cant recall feeling the same difference when switching between a flat bearing and a regular kk but i can definetly feel the difference with the ceramic one.
