I've searched for this phenomenon but haven't been able to find a solution from previous answers. I have an OD 10 ball that is only responsive every other throw, so it's only responsive in one direction. Is this considered part of the break-in period as well, or is this a damaged bearing?
In the other direction, it's not really tug-responsive so that's why I was a bit confused. I've cleaned the bearing recently with lighter fluid and canned air and it still occurs.
Thanks for your help, everyone!

This EXACT thing happened to me. Try electrical contact cleaner, it did the trick. Do some gyro-flops too.

Thanks for the tip. Instead of a 10-min soak that I usually do in lighter fluid, I kept it in there for a few hours and it seemed to have smoothed it out. Must've been something stuck in the cage. Seems to be working now and I've thrown a lot of long sleepers with it so far.
I'll try to look for that electrical contact cleaner for future cleanings, wonder where they stock it.
