To holster, or not to holster? That is the question.
« on: January 19, 2012, 12:06:59 AM »

What's your guys' experience with carrying around your yoyos on slings with your keys?

Often times I find my yoyos flailing around more than they should...and often noisily while entering a car seat or trying to open my front door well after midnight.

At least I don't lose them I guess. Takes a huge load off your pockets too.

Et tu?

I'm in the same boat; keys, yoyo and any loose change are strickly seperated.  Nothing ruins my delusions of stealth quicker than the clanking of keys.

Some of my throws fit into Silver Bullet holsters, Bu$ine$$'s fit very nicely as does X-bones chip, or I put them into crown royal  bags and then into many pockets. I only carry about three at a time depending on my mood.

Yoyos usually travel in a cozie, either in my pocket or backpack.

At work I wear khakis and my yoyo flops around in the deep pockets, so I usually wear a green strap.
At home in winter, I usually wear jeans with my yoyo in the left-front pocket.
In summer, I'm in shorts and hate having stuff in pockets. Yoyo is usually attached to keys which are tossed in a fetching timbuk2 man-bag (keep hatin, hater).

Car keys, other keys, bic lighter, and yoyo in right pocket.

Phone and 1-2 spare highlights in left pocket

Wallet in back left.

Yoyo in front right pocket. iPhone and change in left. Keys in wallet or on carabiner. I'm still looking for that magical yoyo holster/sling/whatever that doesn't swing around and lets me keep my stealth

Protip: Get yourself a carabiner, a non-snag hair tie, and some electrical tape. Wrap the bottom of the carabiner with the tape, fold the hair tie in half around the bottom of the carabiner where you wrapped it in tape and pull one of the ends of the hair tie through the other so it does sort of a slipknot motion, pull it tight, and bam. Ultra reliable holster with stealth intact for little to no cost. I can't live without it.

Is stealth really intact with so much clanking? I think I'm just gonna jury rig some sort of suede/latex "veil" to my holsters to muffle that annoying ding noise we yoyoers have come to cringe at.

I don't like holsters because they dangle around.
I've been looking for shirts with front pockets now to place my yoyo, so I won't feel insecure with having that bump in my pocket haha
