So I just got my ywet recently and the coating feels REALLY rough. Been throwing it the past week and have not noticed any difference on the surface texture. Is it supposed to break in or is this just how the finish is supposed to be? :V

Yes, but does it accept Side Effects?

That's the slip matte. It's supposed to be pretty rough, but it grinds like a dream.

This should be played at high volume, preferably in a residential area.

the slip matte, if im not mistaken, is the smooth finish on the production runs. the rough blast finish was on the prepro ywets and was the one causing all the string cutting issues

You must have one of the first run YWETs - the second runs aren't rough at all. The surface will eventually break in - you can hasten the process with the backside of a leather belt, or by rubbing the surface with a pair of jeans. If your string starts to fray prematurely, you might do the same around the response.

I would consider yourself lucky in either case because those ones are much more limited and far better looking than the production models in my opinion.
