Hey guys,

just but a reflector lamp and a couple of light bulbs. Just wanted some good lighting in my room and had a question.

When i yoyo outside or when i let sunlight in the room my string seems to glow and that is when my string looks the best. I also get that effect when my tv is on. When i used my lamp i didn't get that effect with my string.

So my question is how can i recreate that effect. I want my string to glow light it does with natural sunlight. Is there a specific kind of light bulb i can use?

The secret is the perceived size of the light source. Small, controlled light sources will strafe across and highlight a small section, but leave everything else in shadow. Or rather, more shadowed. It's called "hard light" and without something to defuse (like an open window or tv display) any light source can be made to replicate this. One of the easiest way to achieve this is to get a couple of desk lamps and play around with their position in relation to you with their bulbs pointed toward you string, but not in your eyes. Experiment with the placement and see what works! Good luck!

This should be played at high volume, preferably in a residential area.
