Hello there! As you can already tell, I just got my pair of Shaqler Loop900s from the BST and I am starting on my journey [man, that sounded hella lame] on 2A. I've been messing with loops before I even got the Loop900 pair as I had one YYJ Relic that I can play with. I am confident to say that I can loop-the-loop [inside loops] at least 15 times with not that much effort.
But here's the problem for me now. Since I still don't know what a good loop looks like [other than the vague 'half turn'], I don't know how to tune my loopers' gap to help me learn and get consistent.
So my question is, is there some kind of gap setting that is recommended for a noob like me? Something like "you just have to mess with it and feel it" doesn't cut it because like I said, I don't know what a good loop looks like. If possible, I want a nice setting that will help me get better. Of course, not overnight, but for the long run.
And while I'm at it, I don't want to develop any bad habits so do you guys have any tips on good habits on looping? And is there another website or forum thread that is just as helpful and informative as Shawn's looping guide? I like reading a lot of guides to get more information out of them.
Thanks!

I think I need to stop reading too much forum threads and start yoyoing for once.

Shawn's looping guide should answer your questions about gap settings and how they pertain to the performance of a looping yoyo.
Other than that...looping is an arcane art. You pretty much have to have someone teach you in person (easy mode) or try to bruteforce it yourself (hard mode).
And if you don't know what good loops look like, watch just about any competing 2A player. They have to have their loops solid, efficient, and consistent. Download videos and pick them apart in slow motion.

Thanks for your response, Elephark! I will try my best and pick up what a good loop should look like. Though I know that the yoyo needs to assume a 1 o'clock tilt [right handed], sometimes it doesn't do a 180 enough that I sometimes end on a 11 o'clock >.<
Hmm, since I'll be going to a contest by the end of this month, maybe someone can help me with looping from there. I'm not really concerned about doing two-handed just yet. I just want to be consistent.
I will keep reading Shawn's guide, then! Thanks again, Elephark!
