When I heard the Jrod's designs had won the CODE2 contest I wasn't sure if I liked it. After seeing the first proto pic I thought it looks great, but how does it play? The CODE2 in my opinion is one of the wildest designs I have seen them with, the dietz is first I have 2 of them because they are amazing. The CODE2 Proto I recieved was bright pink and super shiny. Initial thoughts: J-rod decided that for his design he would feel best with the aluminum spikes honestly when I first played it I didn't really like it. I had a bunch of side effects and said I would find one I liked later. Appearance: ITS PINK, It was insanely bright when I looked at it. My case is filled with black throws and this pink throw was not my cup of tea visually. After a few tricks I grew fond of the pink, The grooves and rims look great in the pink color. The Aluminum side effects go great with any color I think, but brass+pink are a match made in yo-yo heaven. My brass spikes in the CODE2 looked the best to me. Weight: The weight of the CODE2 might be a turn off to some but it is a deceiving number. I think because of the rims it plays a lot lighter, and the aluminum spikes help a lot. Side effects make the CODE2 a different throw every time you change them. Play: The CODE2 doesn't play like any other OneDrop I have thrown. I haven't thrown a Burnside and I would believe that it may be the closet feeling in play to the CODE2. With stock SE it floats but not too much, I'm a weight fan but I don't like obese throws with a lot of energy required to get tricks done. Brass spikes and the CODE2 is a star, image a solid floatly throws, that handles beginners horizontal and regens without killing your knuckles. Club reviews: 1/8/12 I took the CODE2 to the NYC club meet and let the gang try it out. One member who owns 5 Y-factoЯs 2 projects and a P2 told me it was big. Clearly he is biased and felt it was much too big for him. He did stay he likes how smooth and great the shape looked. Another club member who doesn't own any ODs said it didn't wow him but it was a good throw. He liked the finish also and said the shape was interesting. The founder of the club said it is a great looking throw and the shape seems to be popular amongst companies nowadays. My opinion: The CODE2 is a wonderful throw that may take some getting used to for undersized lovers. Side effect fans will be very happy. CODE1, 54, and DANG fans will probably have a fit because they will have to retire them all and upgrade to the CODE2. Its stable on all the side effects I tried in it, Smooth if you know how to properly screw the side effects( one member has a hard time tightening them), and a beautiful beast of a throw. In conclusion: J-rod you have a winner, the yo-yo community will be very please with the CODE2 and I can imagine a few contests being wow by the long spintime, stability, and cool spikes that the CODE2 offers.

If they do, we should try time it so that I make a trip to NYC the same weekend. Thanks for sharing the thoughts, Brian.

I tried the Code 2 at a So Cal meet *DXL* and it was amazing. I've never owned any more OD throws after P2 and I'm going to have to save up for one with some side effects to go with it.

I played one at DXL also, they're dope. A little heavier than what I'd like and the bearing was kind of gross but I think with some maintenance and Al ULs installed it'd be pretty sweet.

I love the code2. I have to say when I first saw the specs of the code2 and burnside I thought they may play similarly, however they're really, really different.

I want one soooo bad!!! It looks like a Code1 but this time the devil didn't slap it with ugliness. I love the grooves. I'm liking mini throws more and more but this seems like a throw worth paying full MSRP for(coming from a guy who has only paid $30 for his most expensive throw)

Incredibly stoked for this yoyo. Thanks for writing this up, Melford! The gap profile looks Chief-ey to me, like a rounded YYR. I like it!
