Intermediate yoyo....help
« on: January 05, 2012, 11:24:50 PM »

I'm starting to learn some tricks and I think I am ready for an intermediate yoyo.
What is the best one to get with a reasonable price?

I will assume you know how to bind. Now what's your budget or is it open? And would you like a more durable plastic or a decent metal? I personally recommend the Protostar but I know YoYoJam has some good ones too. If you want metal maybe a caferacer or a DV888. Let us know what you want in a yoyo(material, price, size)

Probably in the $20-$45 range. And what are the different qualities between metal and plastic?
And yes i do know how to bind.

My favorite throw in the upper end of your price range is the YYJ speeder 2.  Long spinning, fast, and super easy to manuever and change direction.  I actually prefer it over quite a few $100 metals.   I would also take a look at the new YYJ Chaser for $26.  Haven't had a chance to play one yet, but I've heard excellent things.  Legacy 2 is also a good option.  All 3 of these are plastic yo-yos with metal weight rings, and their spin time and playability is the same as more expensive metals.
