Hi everyone, Chris from CLYW put a poll up on facebook to decide whether or not to keep making the heavier(66.2g) version of the Chief. He was planning on just making the lighter version but has generously offered to make a poll to make his decision. He will continue to release the lighter chief no matter the results of the poll but if you do prefer the lighter chief you should still vote. So if you want the heavier version of the chief to continue being released along with the lighter version, sign into facebook, find the poll on the CLYW wall, and vote for the heavier version: http://www.facebook.com/clywcanadaThanks!

Before I vote, I have a couple of thoughts. Firstly, I've like to get some feedback from people that have played both. Myself, I have the lighter version. Secondly, I'd sure be interested in the sales ratio between the two. The option of having both versions available is probably best for the consumer but, would that be the best business option for CLYW?

I guess this poll is to let Chris know if continuing both versions would be a good business decision. As for hearing from people that have both, here is a review from a person that has owned both versions: http://www.yoyonation.com/talk/index.php/topic,103581.0.htmlHere is another review but only of the lighter chief: http://www.yoyonation.com/talk/index.php/topic,103703.0.htmlI have not owned both but I have thrown both. I own the heavier version and in my opinion I find it a little more stable but it might just be due to my preference of heavier throws and the fact that I have been throwing the heavier chief for about a week now and only got to throw the lighter chief for one day. I can't say one is better than the other but I will say that it would be nice to continue to release both versions if it brings the same amount of business to CLYW as it would to release only the lighter version.

The heavier version and the lighter version from the 3rd run does not feel much different. The 1st run, on the other hand, feels very different from the rest.
The reason why he is doing this is because 1 version does cost more to produce, due to a different machinist.

Will the continued light versions feel like the very first run of chiefs or will they feel like the 3rd run chiefs? Since they are machined by different machinist, will they be machined by the same machinist as the first run or the third run lighter chiefs?

The lack of consistency is something that's always bothered me about CLYW. I mean, 1.3 grams is pretty significant for a yoyo. These are high precision toys, not pet rocks; there should be hardly any variation from one to another.
I vote for "stick with one machinist."

Personally, I didn't notice much difference in play between the two. But they both moved fast, while I think the heavier version might have been a little easier to slow down if you wanted to. Therefore, I vote to keep the Heavier Chief's coming.

I like the light version because its easier for me to move around, but a friend said exactly the same about his heavy version
