Anybody owns Delrin yoyos?
« on: January 01, 2012, 11:37:38 PM »

I want to know how strong it is. They are quite expensive for a non-metal, plastic-like yoyos.

I want to know did anyone break it? and how much beating it took to break or how much beating it took and still surviving?

Maybe better, is there a table of list where I can compare the pressure-point (break point) .. i have no idea what it's called. It's some sort of numeric value to show delrin's strength. thanks.

Delrin you will find to be very strong.  Delrin is more dense and flexible than polycarbonate and is also self lubricating, which is the reason delrin yoyos grind so well.  Celcon is similar, but delrin is machined instead of molded.

Yeah, as mentioned, celcon yoyos should be similar in durability. A lot of the plastic YoYoJam yoyos are molded from celcon. If you have one of those, then you can see for yourself how durable it is.

I love delrin yoyos. I only play 1a though, so my yoyos don't take much of a beating. I'd say that they can be susceptible to scratches and scuffs if they hit concrete.

I'd highly recommend a good delrin yoyo anyway. They look, feel and play good.

for one thing, I abuse my delrin offstring yoyos A LOT. For example, dribbling my flangers like a basketball for fun   idiot2 . But you should not have any problems regarding durability. I have only heard of two people max that have broken a delrin throw.
