Hello everyone, I have been lucky enough to be chosen as a tester of the new CODE2 prototype from One Drop (thanks Jason) and here are my initial thoughts.
First off the tester models have all been anodized in a bright pink and given a tumble in the pyramatte bath we all know and love. The shape to me is a cross between a TP Positron and a Sleipnir. The feel in the hand is great. It does not feel big in the hand at all which is good. You would think with a throw clocking in at this size it would feel big but it does not. My first throw was great and I was instantly taken by how smooth it was. If you have ever thrown a One Drop with SE's you will know what I mean. Smooth as silk and a dead quiet bearing make for a smile on my face. The spin times and stability were on par with any yoyo I have ever thrown. It was able to move through tricks very well and has just the right amount of control to it. It is fast but not crazy fast. It just goes where you want it to go. It is deff a solid throw but not heavy at all. They really nailed the weight distribution on it. I installed the AL ultra lights and that put it at 66.6 and to me it was playing like a 66g yoyo. One thing that really impressed me was the fun I had while throwing it. Some yoyos you just have a blast throwing and this was one. Now this may be because I am a big fan of this shape to begin with but it is just so comfortable to play. Overall I would have to say that this is the best One Drop 56+ diamater yoyo yet. In my opinion it outplays the CODE1, DANG and Burnside. They are all GREAT yoyos and I own them all but the CODE2 really does it for me. You can not really compare it to the 50 diamater throws from One Drop ala P2, Y Factor and Dietz it just plays so different. If anything I would say that the IRG is a bit too shallow and the gap is a bit big at 4.7. Binds could get a little slippy but after I played it for a while the binds were fine so maybe it was just me getting used to the yoyo itself.
Overall great job One Drop and Jason on the CODE2. I look forward to the production model!!

How floaty is the 44? We measured it on a floaty-o-meter and it scored a 44.

Being lucky enough to be in line after Matt to try the Code 2 was better than having one in my stocking ! I loved the design as soon as I saw it . Jason has without a doubt hit the mark . Trying to imagine the Code 2 as the throw I envisioned it to be was put to rest after one night .The shape is a well thought out idea that is the culmination of a lot of throwing and forward thinking by Jason . After having met him and spent time with him at my house it is clear to see the reason Jason throws is to have fun !Which is the inner charm of the sport. He has taken the best of all aspects of different throws and meshed them all into the Code 2 .And isn't that what the whole contest was all about .I agree with Matt about the few things he could find .The gap being a tiny bit to wide (But its not a deal breaker by any means ).After watching my son and his friends Yo Yo and Bmx they are all in it for the trick action and some don't even have breaks on their bikes. My guess is these guys feel the same way about a bind its just a after thought you know will occur after your main goal of doing a trick you have been trying to land for a while. As for the IRG being a bit shallow but I would not necessarily change this just to satisfy the need for one. The integrity of the shape should stay intact because what I am looking at in front of me is a throw of royalty! Having been thinking for a few years there are so many throws out there wouldn't it be nice to be able to gravitate towards one that will fill many desires and be a go too throw without saying maybe if it had this or that .So thank you all who were involved with the creation of the Code 2 for you have put together a very versatile YoYo that has all of my gems hidden in my case shivering in there cutouts when they look up and see the Code 2 looking at their home .Now the only problem I have is where to hide this tonight so when Santa comes he won't be tempted to Jack it and bring it back to the North Pole so the rest of you will never know the _______True Code !!!!!!!!!! P.s. Jason fabulous job and thank you for the pleasure. Best Regards. James

Well I have had it one more day and the Code 2 is even harder to give up than yesterday ! I really cannot find anything that is worth the mention about this YoYo .Play is exciting and it follows your lead like a loyal dog . It stays the course on a hard or soft throw the weight seems fine due to the fine machine shop work .And is a testament to the craftsmanship and product quality . I am interested to see how long this stays on shelves because once you enjoy this throw for a bit you will want it in your hand again .. It seems to ask you is that all you got ? Come on I can do this all day try and keep up .....Enjoy it ..Its heading your way . ..
