You have 0 feedback, you say you have to get permission from your parents to do business, and you don't even seem to have a grasp on the details of the service you're claiming you can do. This is all incredibly shady and amateurish. You have no business offering a service if you can't even get permission to give out your address.

I don't know if I would send out a MIB Ti-Walker to him but I'd be willing to let him anno some parts for my RC car to see it he can deliver. If only the mailman would deliver them already...

I do have the ability... I just wont give it out randomly... Just let me get this straight, I know how to anodize, I have sent yoyos to several modders such as Calibuddha and SpottedBanana. I am quite confident that you would be satisfied with my services

It's not really a trade or a sale so I don't think they would leave feedback.

I've seen the mods lock threads for much less than this. How is this thread not locked yet? I can't be the only one who thinks it looks like a feeble attempt to scam someone.

I feel seriously offended... I don't mean to scam anyone... I just want to start Ti anodizing. In other words, what have I done wrong? Be honest.

The community must have gone pretty far downhill for someone to label THIS as a scam.

Ok, let's try this again: you advertise that you can anodize, but that if you "mess it up" you will basically polish it up and send it back. Not professional at all. You don't advertise a service if you can't do the service. You're wasting people's time in order to  use their resources to practice something youre trying to learn how to do. You show incredibly amateurish and unpolished work, and don't even know the grade of titanium you're dealing with. You offer free service, then turn down work because to don't "need it". Then you say you might take commission, with zero feedback and will only give out your address with your parents permission. You are in no way a reputable businessperson, considering all of these things. You might not be trying to scam someone, but no one in their right mind would send work to a kid who doesnt have the process down correctly and can't even ship without parental permission.

Let me get this straight... When I made the first post I had not even practiced on scrap, and I now have the process down. I DO know the grade of the Titanium I am dealing with (Grade 1 by the way), and I do not have feedback because I do not like to trade away my yoyos, simply because I like them too much to trade them. I turned down the work because I had not yet received my parent's permission, and I think that this all boils down to the fact that this world is so morally corrupt that anything that is even uncertain is immediately labeled as a scam. As soon as I do Yomagic's TiWalker we will talk. The end result should be what makes the difference between my work and that of someone with no experience.

I think Puff, that you sum it all up in this statement....
Quote
When I made the first post I had not even practiced on scrap...
Yet your advertising for people to send you their cherished Ti yoyos, not their beater aluminum yoyo's, that just sit in the bottom drawer, their, top 'o the line, titanium yoyos ?
What you show, quite honestly, look like garbage, like an accident, my first impression, you have no right offering this service.
Look at Jasons anoed Ti, and look at your piece of crap, I mean scrap. I mean, come on now, that piece of scrap is your example of good work, of having the process down, there is nothing in that picture that even hints at a 'process' !
Your just a kid who got a big idea, and you do deserve some credit for even trying okay, but you need to show people that they can trust you to make their Ti yoyo look awesome, along the lines of a Loaded yoyos job. I suggest you start with aluminum, and do some aluminum yoyos, perhaps the ones you own, and if they look good, and like something someone else would like to get done to one of their old beaters or otherwise, Im sure you'll be as busy as you want to be, but until you show that you can actually anodize a simple aluminum, your just kidding yourself. I know 'Ti is easier', but waiting for people to send you their Ti yoyos, on the basis of what is shown,  and arguing in here that you are able to ano them is pretty pointless.
Those who can do, those who cant or wont, talk about it, and all the reasons they have for why they cant do whatever it is they know they could if they just got the proper chance, lots of the time on forums just like this.
Sorry to seem harsh, your just a young guy, no need to gross you out, dont want to make you feel bad, but this is just silly bud.
If your serious about ano, learn on aluminum.
Good luck.

I am sorry to state this, but anodizing aluminum is at least twenty times more dangerous than anodizing Titanium, also, you need a large setup that costs no less than $300. With Ti anodizing, the process can be done with household products and little to no real danger. Anodizing aluminum involves large amounts of current, toxic fumes, dyes, and boiling water. On the other hand, you can anodize Ti well (with practice) with 9v batteries, baking soda, and a cooking bowl. I started out with this setup myself. I would never be allowed to anodize aluminum because of the many hazards involved.

The bolded part is the reason why people are skeptical in the 1st place. Someone advertising to anno their Ti yoyo, with no feedback, and no pics other then "hey look, I annodized scrap." The whole picture boils down to you are claiming all these people will "support you" but they are not in here "supporting you". I really think you should at least try and get your own Ti yoyo, and test on that, then post results. You show no actual proof you can do it other then saying you can. The "tests" you posted, to be honest, look less then stellar.

Again, if you are legit, I'll be the 1st to admit I was wrong. But you have nothing going for you except your word, and you have not done anything to make that worth anything around here.

Quick question, how could I ruin it? This does no harm to the yoyo. If I happened to make some mistake if any, I would just strip the yoyo and redo it. However, that would not happen.

Yeah, because you've shown such mastery of the art so far.

Get better. Practice on your own stuff. Show some quality work that you can do without your parents permission. THEN solicit some business. You have no business doing so until then.

I've seen a few people selling Ti carabiner. Maybe buy a few of those, anodize them and sell them to show your work?
