Make sure your hands are straight up and down, and you're "boinging" the yoyo directly into the strings. Start easy. Don't push it at first.

man I would give the opposite advice, when I tried to go slow, it didn't work out, it went all at once when I put some confidence in it and went all out.

you don't actually have to aim, but it's all in the rythm.

the thing is, the trick is presented as an intermediate trick, but in reality, there are lots of principles that will help you get there and those only come with time and practice on any other kind of tricks, I was able to do it properly after about a year, some people take two or three years to get it down.

so here are a few pointers that did help me or others

1st, forget about front style (unless you really like it), do it side style from a mount that is pretty similar to the split bottom mount, actually. it's hard to explain, just watch the following vid from 1'40" in to get what I mean, it's not an actual boing e boing, but the mount is the same
<div><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/WDjbAIdwG7k&amp;ap=%2526fmt%3D18&amp;rel=0" width="425px" height="344px" wmode="transparent" quality="high" allowFullScreen="true" allowScriptAccess="never" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" autoplay="false" autostart="false" /><noembed><a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/WDjbAIdwG7k&amp;ap=%2526fmt%3D18&amp;rel=0" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/v/WDjbAIdwG7k&amp;ap=%2526fmt%3D18&amp;rel=0</a>

this is actually much easier (TBH I'm still struggling with the front style one)

2nd, you can actually ease it off, doing it from the wrist mount, it didn't work for me, but it did for some friends

the beginning of the motion is much like the first half of the first part of atomic bomb, just going back & forth

this trick is really much harder than it looks, it's easy to do once you get it, but it can be very hard to get. I know with my guidance, new players in my area can get it pretty quickly, but it's always much easier when you have people to watch you and tell you directly what's wrong (maybe try and upload a vid)

Don't get discouraged if you can't get it for a long time, again, some people can take years to get it down, it's definitely not an easy move to learn and it takes a lot of practice, not in this move alone, but in throwing in general, to get all the basic principles well enough in order to allow you to do it properly.
