Hey guys, I just had a random thought while watching some YYf vids. Would the humidity of the air affect a well lubed bearing? As in, will the bearing rust? I go to Japan in the summers and it's 100% humidity in the summer so I just wondered if humidity does anything.
Any answers will be much appreciated!

Yes, light lube is an absolute must for a bearing to last a long time in such high humidity. I've talked to a few of the Brazilians about this very topic. I recommend a drop of trumpet valve oil every 2 days or so, depending on how many hours you throw. I was in Guangzhou in Southern China during the wet season in May and June. The humidity usually hovered around 85% and I got a few string burns, so be careful. Long cotton string sucks in those conditions. 100% poly would be a lot better if you have it.
