Whip it faster and use a heavier string if available. That was my problem. When you whip, try and get your hands a little closer for more slack to swing around. Hope it helps!

I honestly have no idea how I even learned this trick...but once you get it, it's pretty easy to come up with stuff like this:

I'll have to try these pointers. I always end up in the hook as well.

Try doing Slack GT's. They kinda help. I honestly have no idea how I even learned this trick...

How floaty is the 44? We measured it on a floaty-o-meter and it scored a 44.

If you're landing in Hidemasa hook, that means you're throwing the strings straight at your index finger, and you're hitting both strings that form from the whip on your index finger. When you do Brent Stole, you only want the back string to hit your finger, and instead of whipping straight at your hand, you want to make a motion with your throw hand that first goes behind the yoyo, and then once the string that's whipping has passed by the yoyo laterally, you want to push your throw hand forward. Sounds really complicated, but that's what they'll tell you in most tutorials, and that's how you do it. Try watching some videos and look for where people are making that motion. Besides that, it's honestly just practice and getting your arm used to doing it.

You just do the trick...horizontally...
Hmmm maybe I should learn the hook horizontally first.

Hmmm maybe I should learn the hook horizontally first. Neither of them are that hard. Just do the same whip as you would normally, but adjust the whip to be at the same angle as the yoyo. It's a nice showy trick, but it's really not hard if you can land Brent Stole consistently.
