Do you throw in public?
« on: November 25, 2011, 11:15:50 PM »

Today I spent 8 hours at the mall following my mom and my sister, shopping for deals. I got bored and started to scout out for a good spot to yoyo in private but couldnt find any so I just decided to do it in front of Kohls(ton of people) and see if I copuld handle throwing with others watching.I was surprised to see that a lot of people stopped to watch and a few even threw coins on my jacket which was on the floor(i had just taken it off and I guess people assumed it was for that). I had a blast showing off what little I knew and let a few people try out my 888 which made me tremble at first but luckily its still in 1 piece and nobody threw it hard or hit the ground. So I got to wondering, do you guys like to yoyo in public where people actually stop to see you? And do people give you spare change Afro?

Today I asked a guy for cigarette and offered a yoyo trick in return. He went for it, and after proceeding to show him and his sister a trick we started talking and I ended up with his A(Beautiful) sisters nuber and got offered a place to chill for the day which I had to decline as I was on a road trip up here to see my mom with my grandparents, anyways yess I yoyo in public every day and thats exactly why. You never know what will happen when you do, its an ice breaker that often leads to alloootttt better conversations, people, than your coolest pick up line ever would. It's also very good practice for stage presence.

Any time, any place, you will find me with Yo-Yo in hand.  I have tried Yo-Yoing with a hat out, but didn't have much success.  I do much better when I have a few beginner yoyos in my pocket and offer to sell them to people who are interested.

All the time. I tend to yoyo like a smoker smokes. Between activities and outside.

I will now yoyo everywhere. That's excellent, and I rarely carry enough cigarettes to get me through the day.

I yoyo all the time, and wherever the hay I want.
Security guard comes up and tells me to stop, I do an elip hop to the face, don't you tell me what to do, Its a free country loser. Back off!

But yeah, I throw all the time, and everywhere. Reactions range from "thats so cool!" to which I say "Uhh.....duh? Of course it is!" to "Wow get a life." To which I make sure the individual "accidentally" falls down a flight of stairs.

I just wanna throw.

I got kicked out of Wal-Greens for yoyoing.  When the clerk told me to stop, I said, "If yoyoing isn't allowed, then why the hell are you selling Peterfish yoyos?"

Well, yes I do it in public sometimes, but most people here don't say anything... Maybe it's just culturally uncommon here to talk with stranger when you're interested in something. I mean, if I'm not a yoyoer and accidentally I say someone doing that, I won't really talk or even borrow his yoyo. When I play in public, some people stop for a while and watch, but mostly they just keep going.

all the time, today at the christmas market, I was throwing my lit up FHZ with the CW, was fun

the biggest thing we did, I believe was when we met up with a group of dancers and proceeded to perform in that mall, we gathered quite a crowd and ended up being kicked out by the security

There's a lot of things you can buy at Walgreen's that you probably shouldn't use in the store.

to be honest, you get very different reactions whether you're 19 or 33.

I never got kicked out of a place (when throwing by myself), let it be a shop or any other kind of place. Security guards, police and whatnot always find it easier to bully teenagers than adults.

I think there's definitely some truth to this.  I throw almost everywhere I go.  Although, most people never give me any flak with my kids around (which is usually the case  Smiley).  However, I do find that I get more positive reactions from people when I'm throwing my loopers (which I always carry with me).  Probably because people are more familiar with those types of YoYos and tricks than any other style.
