I just received my mighty flea in the mail today, I wanted to clean the bearing and run it dry, but while I was trying to get it out I ruined the bearing. I was able to find a ceramic 4x8x3mm bearing online at a hobby shop (they use them in RC helicopters), when I get this new bearing does anyone have any tricks to getting these bearings out? Its just silly difficult.
Thanks all.

Just get some organic solvent, Acetone. IsoAlch(99%),Mineral Spirits, any organic solvent, get a small container/lid you can place the bearing and the solvent in and be able to shake , leave bearing in container for several hours/overnight shaking now and then. By doing this you should be able to clean out any residual grease on the new bearing without having to remove the shields. Do it 2 or 3 times and your bearing should be good and clean, it depends one the amount of lube applied at the original factory, sometimes the whole inner bearing race/ball is filled with grease, you would nee to slowly dissolve this grease, soaking and then shaking in the solvent should do it. It is possible to clean a bearing with the shields still on, but it requires more work. Good luck.

here's a good vid that'll help you out and if you can't find some mineral sprites you can use a nail polisher but make sure its mostly alcohol and very little water

Oh Canada...

I think he was asking how to remove the bearing from the bearing seat...
For tight bearings, I wrap them with a thin cloth, then wiggle them out with pliers.

He's asking how to get the bearing OUT. Use pliers like the one pictured and wiggle back and forth.

Lol. He asks how to get the bearing out and the first two responses are how to clean it. I read the post once and knew what he wanted.
On topic:
Both Namtaro and yoyospirit are exactly right, do what they said. Works every time. It just takes more time than others, if it's stubborn.
