Matrix question
« on: October 28, 2011, 05:30:01 AM »

So I've been practicing the Matrix and the basics work fine. In Andre's tutorial he explains that after the dismount from Double or Nothing, you put your arm around your non throw hand finger to make it spin one extra time. This works but in his video:
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/9_Qmf-7RChY&amp;ap=%2526fmt%3D18&amp;rel=0" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/v/9_Qmf-7RChY&amp;ap=%2526fmt%3D18&amp;rel=0</a>
(1.26) he doesn't do this and it looks much smoother, how do you achieve this extra roll without bringing your throw hand over your non throw hand?

I can do it, but I can't explain it very well so bear with me. As you turn your free hand over, you've got to pull your throw hand away from your non-throw hand and the yoyo should then go around your finger without your throw hand passing in front of your other hand.

Now you mention it I do see that he turns his hand around, but the video on youtube just doesn't have enough frames to see what he's doing. So basically.. all I needed to do is pull with throw hand and put my palm up, I can see how that gets me half a spin...I'll try. Other tips still welcome!

edit: didnt get it.

How do you get another wrap around that same finger? Or is he switching to another finger? (like zipper?)

It looks like he's doing oliver twist instead of going around his finger. That's actually how i do matrix as well.

It does look like that, thank you  Afro.

Evil move though, especially when doing it fast, really easy to wrap your yoyo as if you're binding.

Nice youtube channel as well, thanks man.

What I found out is, during the first roll of the dismount of double or nothing, curl in you nonthrowhand index, this will create a wrap that you use to roll the Yoyo again . Here is me doing it, pay attention to my nonthrowhand.

Hope this helps.
