Recrev Mangaroo and 33 1/3
« on: October 24, 2011, 08:48:17 AM »

Hi everyone, I have recently been interested to get one of these yoyos and would like to ask if anyone has an opinion they would like to share with me Smiley. The gap of the yoyos is what worries me a little. They both have gaps narrower than 4mm...  around 3.6mm. Should i be worried? Please tell me how they play too Smiley

Thanks very much Smiley

I have both the Mangaroo and the 33 1/3, so here are my quick opinions:

The mangaroo is a really cool yoyo. It feels like a wider, lighter No. 9. It's very fast and has a nice wide catch zone for all them string tricks. The full-size shape is nice if you're into that. The weight distribution is pretty interesting, and it reminds me of the Octave. My yoyo has a small vibe, but it's only really felt on grinds. If you get a Mangaroo, go for that awesome rainbow/black splash one. It looks sick while spinning.

The 33 1/3 feels and plays a lot like the YYF Lunatic. I got this yoyo at BLC/DXL, when it was first released, and it's a fun yoyo. My main problem with it is that it has enough vibe to feel when it's spinning, unlike the Mangaroo, which only had vibe on grinds. I believe Alex made this yoyo for very fast play, so if you're into doing lots of speedy tricks, this one might be the one for you. Anthony Rojas tried going as fast as he could with it at a recent DXL meet and it kept pace with him, so that was cool to observe.

Overall, I have to say I like the Mangaroo more. It's wide, full-sized, and comes in some very cool colorways. My main concern with RecRev throws is that they tend to be fairly inconsistent with regards to vibe. Some of my RR's are dead smooth, while others have markedly noticeable vibe to them. However, vibe in itself is no big deal to me as long as it does not make the yoyo responsive.

The only problem is, I don't think you can get any RecRevs at YYN. You'll have to look at other stores to get one, and the one you mentioned earlier tends to charge more for them anyways. The only US-based store I know of that carries RR's does not have any of these two you're looking for, so you'll need to shop around on other foreign stores if you want to find them. Good luck and let me know what you get!

Thanks a lot Smiley. Does anyone else have an opinion? I'm still worried about the gap. Any remarks on that?
