Yea so awhile ago I got a magnum from a reputable trader.
When the Magnum arrived, I noticed it had some vibe, not what I'm used to from General-Yo. But I haven't inspected much aside from cleaning the bearing the yo-yo came with and ripping off the old response, then put it in my case.
So yesterday I took it out of my case and sought to fix the vibe, after I replaced the bearing and freshly siliconed the yo-yo, the vibe was still there. I was just wondering if this is the way it's suppose to be.
Btw, the yo-yo plays perfectly, no wobble, just a vibe, enough for me to notice it while playing it.
Is there anyway to tune this?

You might try flipping the axle - sometimes that helps with a minor vibe.

As in taking it out and putting the other side of the axle back in?

One thing I have noticed about the 3 different magnums I have owned is they are NOT very forgiving on an off- kilter throw. After throwing a sleeper lightly touch your fingernail to the yoyo....if it smooths out then the problem is your throw being slightly off plane from vertical. If it doesnt smooth out after the fingernail test you have a different problem! However- with a perfect throw the magnum will just about out spin any yoyo. Anyway...hope this helps some!

Most Magnums have vibe. It has something to do with the plating of the magnesium with nickel. They're just not perfectly smooth like other General Yo yoyos, but their play more than makes up for it. I've got a beautiful Magnum (Gunstar's borrowing it now) with the same tiny bit of vibe and I've never heard of anyone having a perfectly smooth one.
If I were you, I'd PM Ernie and ask him about it. He'll be able to give a great explanation.

As in taking it out and putting the other side of the axle back in? Yes sir. Sometimes that can work wonders. Sometimes it does nothin'. I've owned three Magnums, and still own one - the b-grade wasn't perfectly smooth, but both of the a-grades were.

It's still there, not dead smooth, but as NKessier says, the unique feeling and playability makes up for it. I'll get some hat-pads later and see if that does better than my horrible siliconing skills xD

It's just about re-aligning the halves. Yoyo halves tend not to be perfectly symmetrical. The trick to getting them perfectly smooth is often about getting the halves to align right - which is what "tuning" is doing with yoyo like the Bape, which has a floating axle. Glad to hear it's playing more to your liking!
