The only problem I see is how can people see the difference between a special edition nickel plated P2 by onedrop and your nickel plating?
they are very different finishes . shine the tone ect .. inside the cup tone ect , mine is alot more nickeltastic . also p2 have been about for some time and most of them have aged and tarnished. hope this helps if you put one of each next to each other there is a big difference regards Ben

When I got my OG markMont from the BST it had aged and darkend. I used some Mothers MAG and aluminum polish to bring it back to factory shine so that I could see how fast I would age it.

Yes you can re polish it it will never back to Its exact original tone and finish ! It will get shiny again and look new but all polish is abrasive and alternative the nickel . One drop electroless nickel plate Wich is very thin .0003, it's different to my finish which Is carefully electroplated usually .0008 to .0012 Many thanks Regards Ben Promo - 101 post winner - as you are the post winner 101 person To comment on the blog to win a free NYT for one Yoyo , -- not collected promo suspended ) next opening post number 11?

That Peak looks pretty awesome. I've been wanting to get a raw peak nickel plated since like forever... (since 2007) So, when do you plan on Gold Plating? -Greenonion

Lesigh. I wish I came upon this sooner! I got a nickel yoyo coming just because it was nickel! I could've just sent you one of my other yoyos to nickel. Veryyy nice work. Hopefully I'll get raw yoyo deserving enough that I'd want to nickel plate! Wondering though, does the nickel increase the weight?

O.K. then, I have a question. I have a painted WMM that was originally nickle plated. It has since been painted. My question is.....how can I restore it to OG status? Is the OG nickle plating underneath the paint?

If it's paint, just chip it off or use a very mild solvent to remove it.

K, I hear ya. What would you consider a "mild" solvent? Do mean just soaking it in the solvent until the paint disappears?

If it's paint, just chip it off or use a very mild solvent to remove it. Yes just like my friend said use a solvent . However you need to check to see if the nickel underneath was etched of before or sanded down. You need ask the person who painted it ? Also a good mild solvent to use is white spirit or nail polish remover and use a cotton cloth to soak the spirit and use the same method you would polishing a Yoyo ' wax on just be patient with it . And I have not yet been able to nickel in gold the tanks That I have access to only support the current finishes . But this may change in the future I just don't know yet ! Thanks Regards Ben

I can't praise Ben's work enough. I'm simply blown away by how gorgeous my yo-yos turned out. This guy is for real, folks. He not only did a professional job on my throws, but he was a real pleasure to deal with. It's a bit nerve-wracking to send stuff overseas to a person you hardly know, but Ben seemed like a stand-up guy, so I placed my faith in him (and the postal services of our respective countries). I'm extremely happy I did. He's a great guy, and a kept me informed throughout the process. A brief word on vibe: none. The Torrent II was vibe-free to begin with (of course!), but the Peak had a decent little rumble to it. Nothing terrible, just standard Peak vibe. Now that Ben has worked his magic, the Torrent remains vibe-free (which is itself an accomplishment), but, much to my surprise and delight, the Peak is now vibe-free as well. Not completely 100% vibe-free, but enough that I'd wager that it's possibly the smoothest Peak in the world (not to gloat!). I don't want to make any promises that Ben can't keep, since from my understanding, nickel-plating is an inexact science. But this is the result I got, and I feel it's worth noting. If a picture is worth a thousand words, here's my six thousand word review of Ben and NYT: For reference, the Torrent was raw polished when I sent it in, and the Peak was raw-raw, with machine lines. Any little scrapes or dings were there when I sent them in.

They're holding up well, and pretty much look the same as the day I got em. The golden tint has perhaps deepened very slightly, which is almost like a precursor to tarnishing, but so far there's been no darkening. The finishes on these are so smooth that they'll probably take a while to tarnish, since there are no little pockets for hand oils to hide in (whereas, say, One Drops with flow grooves tend to pick up a tarnish within days).
I look forward to seeing what you've got up your sleeves for this year.
