OH FNG....You've gotten so much better from your days way back at another forum who's name won't be mentioned.
I kinda bounced on this thread through random searching, and I love what i see!
been in 4A for awhile, and i'm pretty much known primarily for it...Love my 4x rextremes but I'm looking forward to what the other companies are going to be putting out soon! (trust me, its going to be huge!)
But I'm planning on finally making some vids of stuff soon...got some clips i've been meaning to put together and tricks to update...
Love to help out some of you folks who are new to 4a! Its definitely a great style thats finally starting to get better!

That's some pretty rad stuff. How long have you been playing 4A?
Also: Jeff Coons is finally back in MA and he stopped by our yoyo club yesterday and did some 4A with a Duncan Metropolis (I know, right?), and he is absolutely incredible. He does the most complex 4A stuff I've ever seen, but needs a -really- unresponsive 4A yoyo to get that many string wraps in the gap. It's pretty crazy.

I started 4a about a week ago. I am using a yyj go big. So far I have had a blast with it. 4a is really a challenge. Love it, feels great..

So I've had a fiestaXX for awhile and it's a fantastic throw but I want something different. So my question is what should I get or look for? A solar? or something similar.
The only real gripe I have about the fiesta is that the gap seems a bit too big and it doesn't always bind at low speeds, I tried throwing a half bearing in there but it made the gap too small for the polly string I use.

A Go Big would probably fit your tastes. It's a lot more responsive than the Fiesta XX. In my opinion, the Fiesta XX is a little on the responsive side. The Solar is a bit less responsive than the Fiesta XX, though, so I would stray away from that if you think the Fiesta XX is too unresponsive. Ultimately, though, you might just need to bind better. Try varying up your binds a bit, and if it's still not to your liking, I'd get a Go Big.
Edit: I'm actually trying to get rid of some of my 4A yoyos. Mainly my Go Big, and probably my first run Fiesta. PM me if interested.

Try siliconing your Fiesta, flush, not recessed. Flowable silicone grabs a bit better than the yyj pads.

Hi guys. I've been back into 4a for about a week now and I practiced it for a couple weeks awhile back. I'm loving it for sure. I'm working on some double-or-nothing repeaters, loose returns, and I want to get whip and snag. I'm using my Fiesta xx, and I can't wait for the Yonity Kung for the adjustable gap. Anyone have news on when this is coming out?
PS: I'm glad to see a 4a dedicated thread as I feel it's one of my favorite styles and it seems to be verrrryyyy under-appreciated!

So I'm fairly new to 4a. I had never really yoyo'd before, and my suitemate randomly got me into it. Because he didn't have a proper 4a yoyo with him at the time, I started learning on a Duncan stunt pilot. Recently something went wrong with it (I have no idea about the details) and since I'm really liking 4a I'm planning on buying my own yoyo. I want to keep learning using something with a smaller gap. Does anyone have any suggestions for something similar to the stunt pilot that I could use for 4a?

I finally got around to tutorialing another one of my 4a combo's. I'd love to see other people do the same, I'm still hunting for combo's beyond the basics that are done as actual tutorials.
