Two halves of Yo-Yo stuck HELP!
« on: September 20, 2011, 03:57:55 PM »

I just bought a new 888, I threw it for the first time and it works great! But, when I wanted to switch the bearings. The two yo-yo halves would not budge.

                                                                                I need suggestions please!

Ok. I'm going to be as tactful as possible here. Please take my suggestion seriously. I really mean no offense.

While holding the yoyo in front of your body (888 engraved sides facing away from you on the left and right) firmly in your grasp. Twist the right half towards you with your right hand and the left half away from you with your left hand. Firmly. Use that man strength son.

Since you are loosening the yoyo you really do not have to worry about stripping the axle or breaking anything. As long as you are turning it the correct way.

If this doesn't solve your problem contact yoyo factory. Unless the axle is loctited on either side (which I doubt unless you got it in a trade and the other end decided to be a nunchuck) and even then I have gotten axles out of loctited yoyo's, the yoyo should come apart.

Sometimes its the yoyo not the "man" strength. I couldn't get my sasquatch open but using a rough surfaced towel helped a lot. (I'm working out). Put the yoyo in a towel and do what gunstarhero says.

Tried doing that, it's stuck. So instead I used some heavyduty tools. Found out the axle was bent. tongue Thanks anyway and just a tiny bit of offence taken!

I guess there wasn't really a method of approaching this question without causing some.

Glad you figured it out though.
