I bought a metal zero yo yo from duncan a while back and didn't really realize it was more for the counter weights and stuff. And now I'm getting more into yo yo-ing again and just ordered some new string but was wondering about the friction stickers..
So with the friction stickers, are intermediate/advanced tricks going to be more difficult?
And will just removing them make the yo yo basically be a normal unresponsive yo yo?
You need some sort of response to make the yoyo come back to your hand. A lot of folks remove one friction sticker and just play an unmodified FHZ with a single sticker; if you remove both, though, you will not be able to get the yoyo to come back up. I'd suggest you get some of the Duncan silicone pads though because the regular frictions stickers wear out very quickly, whereas the silicone pads last quite a while.
