MVP Problem?
« on: September 02, 2011, 06:37:28 PM »

So I recently got a MVP in the trade and the bearing was kind of loud so I wanted to switch it.

I used pliers, the YYF bearing removal tool, everything. I can NOT get it out. I used the freezer method, I used the old string method, the bearing hasn't even budged. I guess I don't care about the bearing, at this point it's kind of messed up anyways... but does anyone know of a way I can use to remove stuck centertrac bearings?

Thanks Smiley

I have an MVP I got in a trade and whenever I put a new bearing in (quiet, smooth, long spinning 10balls) it plays nicely for 30 seconds and then it gets really loud and when I take the bearing out it's all raunchy. It's happened to 4 OD 10ball bearings. Is it the bearing seat? Yoyo itself? Can anyone help? Huh

...yes, I obviously haven't thought of that....  Smiley

Edit: I GOT IT!! Well, my dad did it for me. I put a nice quiet 10 ball bearing in there...

.... and it became loud again. Why does every bearing this yoyo touch turn nosiy?!

You think it's how the bearings somehow grind with the seat? I mean, of course you know how quiet those 10balls bearings are.
But then, I wouldn't know because I'm a noob.

I think I need to stop reading too much forum threads and start yoyoing for once.

Yeah now I have a new problem, every time I switch (4 times, all quiet smooth 10balls) bearings it plays quiet for 30 seconds and starts turning really noisy. and when I take out the bearing it's loud and... not that spinny

Check the bearing seat and see if there are silicone bits in it.  Clean it out with a wet q tip.  Maybe the tight bearing post has something to do with it?

I wanna guess it's the yoyo itself. Did you check something else that's unusual other than the bearings almost messing up?
And it wouldn't hurt trying that same bearing on another throw and check its spin. Is it the same or do the problems only occur on the MVP
...speaking of the MVP, I'm kinda scared now. I'm waiting for an MVP [along with 5 more yoyos] from YYF because I won their contest..

Take some of the liquid that you use to clean bearings( like mineral spirits) and put it on a cotton swab and rub it around the seat and let it sit in there for a while then swab it off. There might be something in there that you're not seeing. If the problem still apparent, there might be a problem with the seat itself and that's when I'd contact the place you got it from/YYF

Check the post on the bearing seat and the seat for out of round.  That could cause the tight fit and possibly distort the bearing.
