All I want are some highlights that last longer... anything fit the bill?

Most other strings are better than highlights under humid and/or sweaty hand conditions but I don't like how they either whip much differently than highlights or lack the bounce of highlights.

Kitty String

Yeah this -- and it sounds like I have the same criteria when choosing a string as you do beezy. Been playing with it ever since I got home and can't put it down. The one Kitty String I got previously when I ordered my Sleipnir lasted me a few weeks before I just threw it away a couple days ago. Granted it was really tattered and ratty at that point, but it still held tension very nicely until the end. Super soft as well.

Thanks, fellas. I will definitely pick up some Kitty String.

I highly recommend trying Chaos 122, it's my favorite string. It's a little hard to find right now but I've used it in the past and it's soft, strong and is nice in humidity.

This seems like a plug for your own string...
Nope, not my string.
What version of #82 were you using? was it the blue Kevlar or the black?

Blue kevlar.
I have switched to a black that is as soft as poly.
Nice, i wil have to pick some up.

Agreed.

I haven't posted in a LONG time, but I have been throwing during my absence and I've used nothing but YYSL string.  Honestly, the only reason I throw anything else is for perspective.  I always think, "Woah!  I can't believe I used to throw that"  I've been throwing it since it debuted and I've had plenty of time to form a solid opinion about it.  I've never thrown anything that comes close to performing as well as YYSL (type 1 or 2).  It whips fast, holds more tension than any other string, feels soft/slick even after many hours of play, opens up for suicides in a perfect circle every time, and is brighter than anything else on the market.

Best of all, though, it feels just like a broken in Highlight after an hour of play.  That feeling doesn't go away until the string just dies on you ~12 hours later.  Matt, the guy who makes YYSL, is a great guy, too.  He seriously pours all his effort into making YYSL as good as it can possibly be.  Any string maker will tell you that getting consistent string when using different combinations of colored threads is hard to do.  Even Highlights are very different from color to color.  My absolute favorite thing about YYSL is it's consistency from colorway to colorway.  All Type 2 strings, no matter which color, feel the same and play the same.  Good stuff!

OK.  I'm done jacking this thread with my raving about string.  Thanks for your time!

I have recently been trying a bunch of new strings and I really like Twisted Stringz the best. Just my two cents. Also anyone want to sell me some yellow highlights??? Other basic yellows just don't feel or play the same to me.

Do NOT buy kevlar string.  Around the loop at the bottom, it starts to fray from the kevlar rubbing up against itself.  I have had to dub a yoyo "two face" because of the dings i got on one side of it because the string broke. It's not worth the money.

If people judged string by your standard, one should obviously never break, then not too many of the strings being made would stand up.
My point ?
You have had the opposite of most people experience with kevlar string, so perhaps, just maybe, the fact that one string broke, might not mean every kevlar string made will break if used to yoyo with ?
Its like saying don't buy a certain brand yoyo because I have one and it vibes and wobbles really bad, I don't mention it has been run over by a truck, what does that have to do with making a good yoyo, nothing exactly. So having a poor experience with a particular string might just come down to a bad batch, or more likely just a bad string, or maybe even you've got a little burr or some smeg on your yoyo that is causing it to cut a string.Crazy ? I know, but believe it or not, some brand new yoyos have been notorious string cutters, only because they had an issue with edges of the response groove being rough and able to cut though string as quick as a saw.
So be sure to check your yoyo response area, and look see if there is some new damage, all it takes is a pinprick in the wrong spot, with the yoyo spinning so fast, just a bit of damage can cut a string.
Examine any areas where the string rubs against the yoyo body.
Usually string breaking issues will find their solutions with the yoyo itself and not the string, but like I said, perhaps you got a bum batch that got set in the direct sunlight for too much time, UV light degrades fibers at a great rate, while it may look just fine, but there may be damaged fibers.
Please, don't misunderstand me(trust me it happens lol), it sucks you had to suffer a nice ding through what appears no fault of your own, but yoyo is rife with risk, so its all part of the package.
 Have fun and good luck.
