Alongside my aluminum ano work, I have also been researching titanium (Ti) anodizing. I've assembled a second ano kit just for titanium and started my first experiments today. Here's all I have to show so far, but the results are promising... This is an M4x0.7 titanium screw bar (common yoyo axle size) which I anodized into a variety of rainbow hues. The screw bar isn't a very ideal candidate for anodizing since it's kinda dark, dirty and threaded. However, even with me not bothering to clean it, you can see decent colors coming through. I hope to get much brighter colors on some actual yoyos soon. (I actually have a couple Sovereigns and a few TiWalkers as test subjects...) If anyone has a titanium yoyo that they would like to subject to a free anodizing trial, I will be doing a handful of freebies until I get everything down perfect. Right now, I am going to concentrate on getting solid, consistent colors, but I will be moving on to some fancier stuff once the basics are locked down. Titanium anodizing is much easier/simpler than aluminum, so I think things should progress quickly.

Awesome! I was hoping you'd start playing with titanium! My Ti Walker needs to visit you some day for a polished rainbow anodize.

Ok guys, I have more than enough test volunteers for Titanium anodizing now, so no more slots open.

Loaded YoYos: Pink Titanium Aurora! Ok, thanks to YoYoGuitarist, who was brave enough to trust me with his Aurora, I proudly present my first titanium ano job. I'm working on getting down the fundamentals first before attempting some of the more fancy splashes, fades, etc. Anodizing titanium is actually a very different process than aluminum, so I can't get the same colors or effects as I do with aluminum. Generally colors are going to be less bold and bright, but will have an irridescent sheen to them. That said, this one came out better than I hoped for a first try. I managed to get an even shade of pink throughout without any blotchiness. Titanium color changes depending on the angle and light, so in some angles it appears more gray/green/pink and in other angles it is very pink. It's actually a very cool effect. (You can see a little bit of this in the photos.) I'm excited to do a few more of these. Here is a photo of an original color half and the half that I anodized in the same photo so you can see the color difference.

I'm pretty impressed by anyone who can look at a drawing and decide how well the yoyo will play.
