YoYoNation Introduces International Discussion Forums!
« on: August 12, 2011, 06:08:16 PM »

Greetings Nation!

As you may have seen, since the appearance of YoYoNation.co.uk, other high profile yoyo players have joined with YYN to open YoYoNation affiliated stores in their own areas. So far we have representation in Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, Brunei and soon Hong Kong. With the blossoming International nature of our community we thought it was only fitting to provide a place for these communities to converse, enjoy and grow!

So in short, the aim of these forums are as follows.

1. To provide an area for local communities to talk about contests/events/happenings in their own area.
2. To allow non-English speakers to converse in their native language.
3. To provide smaller, more comforting areas for new players to join in conversations where they can build connections within their local scene.

To answer some questions i see arising.

1. I'm from (Insert Non-US Country Here), can i still post my video, photo, contest information in the existing sections - Absolutely, yes. These forums are in no way aimed to confine you, only to give you more options. You are more than welcome to double post in the regular location AND your country's local forum.
2. Can i post a BST in my country's forum for local shipping purposes? - No, all BST activity must remain in the existing BST

If i have missed a country you would like to see have its own forum here, just let me know and i will add it. Also if anyone is interested in moderating their local forum and speaks English as well as their Native language please contact me as well.

Enjoy guys, i hope you make good use of these!

I think I need to stop reading too much forum threads and start yoyoing for once.

"All BST activity bust remain in the existing BST"

OMGTYPO!

I know most Norwegians are grateful for this addition to the forums.

I'm going to ask you to add my country on the country list, but I'm still undecided  Undecided

Considering it's one of the most populous countries in the world and has a good yoyo following I'm surprised it was left out. Then again a number of other major countries were left out too.

Maybe countries were chosen based on YYN sales or something.

well maybe that's the case, and as far as I know, not many players from my country buy yoyos from yyn or at least a member...

Hi, well, it sounds like a good idea, but from my forum experience (used to be admin for a living and I have years of experience in administrating boards), this would be very hard to make work. these people usually have their own forums that they use and where the new players come to.
IMO it clutters the YYN for very little result.

I like the original "yoyo nation" idea, rather than separating the boards for foreign people.

I think the regional forums could be very nice for people to network in other countries. It's an obvious step and there's no reason why people who visit other forums wouldn't want to branch out to YYN. I like.

Cool idea for the international discussion thread.
will there be one in the near future for Taiwan? If so, I'd be more than willing to help out Afro
