Hi, I've just received my YYF Velocity a week ago, love it so much (since it was my fist yoyo). Unfortunately I've lubed it with think lubricant oil, which made it too responsive. I need to take out its bearing so i can remove the 'thick' oil and replace it with 'thin' lube. But how to remove the bearing? Anyone?

Unscrew the body sides (not the response dials) then you will probable need some pliers to wiggle the bearing out. Cleaning and re-lubing is already covered around here.

Why always with the pliers You notice they don't sell pliers as bearing removal tools ? There's a reason for it. Get a 1/4" drill bit, or a 1/4" round anything, dowel will work if the end is cut square, or even better get a bearing removal tool like the one YYF sells, and use that, its paid for in the first bearing it saves from ruin. The go on YouTube, or even here at YYN and find a video of someone removing a bearing using a bearing removal tool, then watch it so you have a good idea how they are used, and you are good forever. Im quite sure(but have to check to make sure) the smaller A size Duncan bearings, use a 1/8" 'bearing removal tool. I use drill bits because they are handy, but most real bearing removal tools will allow you to remove the bearing with the axle still in place because they are hollow. Good luck.

You won't ruin your bearing with pliers if you're not a moron.

I remember the bearing in my Velocity (Version 3) was loose. It should just be a matter of unscrewing the yoyo. Then check out this thread for how to clean the bearing.
