Magic Drop:
« on: August 05, 2011, 06:56:35 AM »

I've got the the whole string rejection thing down, but I'm having real trouble getting the yoyo to land on the string once it 'drops'. Help is much appreciated.

I'm sorry I have to say this: There is no quick fix to landing the magic drop...

The one dreaded word makes it's appearance: PRACTISE.

Dreaded but so necessary..

Something I've seen people do before is turn their non-throwhand inwards right before the yoyo lands on it.  That motion brings the bottom string closer to your body and makes it much easier to land on the string.  Also, you can just put your ring finger in there and make the gap between the strings HUGE, but it looks pretty sloppy when done that way.

Also when you do it try and go over your right index finger AS SLOW AS POSSIBLE.

in your non throwhand put two fingers in to open the gap make it easy to land as you swing it over remove your thumb just as its about to land on the string.
