The recess area wasn't deep enough to hold silicone, but with these ghost pads having the added benefit of adhesive they work wonders, bind tight and really last. They truly outshine other pads and for G5 application there is no cutting or trimming require. Hunter666) Great pads. They are very unresponsive after they are broken in, but they keep that tight bind that you love about silicone. Up to this point I had used difpads and a certain other silicone pad that I so awfully hated (I only used the orange silicone pads once). Difpads were great, but on a pyro with a ceramic kk, they weren't giving tight binds after a few hours of play. I switched to these to combat the problem. I'm glad I made the choice. They feel like silicone. I actually prefer pads over silicone because these ones are simple to replace! Also, these are very durable. They don't fall apart like other silicone pads. I have, however, only used these with a kk bearing, and I have found flat bearings that do not keep the string centered become unpredictably responsive with silicone. (silicone is very responsive, but if you have a large gap, only the bind will touch the sides) This can be compated pretty well with a smooth, clean bearing and pads that are broken in. If you want low response with a tight bind, get these, especially if you have a konkave bearing. Author: gabe sasman These pads are awesome.
