YoYoNation Commercial!

Here it is! Our first, official commercial for YoYoNation.com! We had  a lot of fun making it and hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

Let us know what you think. Keep it real.

EYYC Wrap Up.

Only one possible place to start, a huge thank you and congratulations to Korda, Sheda the Czech Yo-Yo association and everyone involved with the running of the event for an absolutely immaculate contest. I don’t know what the plans are for the future of the contest, but if it doesn’t go on tour I, for one, would be happy to return to Prague year on year.

So, the contest! First of all, i have to talk about Vashek Kroutil and his 1A winning performance. I was totally shocked to see the level of adoration and hype that Vashek generates in his home country as well as the rock star he transforms into when he takes the stage. Off stage, he’s a pretty quiet, super nice guy, on stage he undergoes an instant metamorphosis. He owned the stage from start to finish and i can’t say enough good things about his performance.

2010 Dead String Contest

2010 Dead String Contest

YoYoNation is proud to sponsor Kitty String’s 2010 Dead String Contest!

For those who haven’t participated before, the Dead String Contest was founded to encourage players to think about the waste produced by discarding used strings, and about the environment in general; similar in part to the Cones to Balls project.

From Hiro at Kitty String: “Most of the Player after the Strings cannot be used anymore they just throw it in a trash. That’s why I came up with this Contest for us to keep our surroundings clean and to make those Dead Strings still useful in this kind of Contest. Those collected String are combined to our Dead String Ball. Which we are rolling the Used String to make a Gigantic Dead String ball.”

So instead of throwing away your used strings, save them up and send them to Kitty String by the deadline of September 1st, with the people who send in the most string (by weight) winning the prizes. For full contest details check out Kitty String’s website. Exact prizes are still TBD, but we’ll update here as soon as they’ve been announced.
