Yo-Yo Technological Feat of the Day
This guy mashes up a Night Moves 2 with the infrared camera from a Nintendo WiiMote, enabling him to track the movement of a yo-yo on his computer screen. A+ for effort.

Pat’s non-yo-yo-related Christmas present to himself this year was a Nikon D80. To illustrate his fast-growing photographic prowess, here’s a picture of the YoYoNation team looking excited/uncomfortable/normal in front of a Union Square subway stop:

Pat and his uber-lens have been inseparable and he is obviously taking this bad boy down to ECC tomorrow to document the goings-on. To the East Coasters we’ll see in Delaware: make sure and smile for the camera!
Pat and Weber did it up on the FOX Business morning show this week in a segment inspiringly titled “Yoyoing for Life”. We note that FOX’s Peter Barnes has a decent power throw. Click the image to check out the interview!
Modern yo-yo greats Paul Yath and Patrick Mitchell are featured in Mountain Dew’s newest commercial. They’re caught showing off the darker side of the yo-yo business where yo-yos are weapons and players are hitmen.
Looks like Paul’s using the original black Milk by Born Crucial.
Congrats on your acting debut, guys!

Hi, this is Kentaro. This is my first time writing here.
From November 16 to 21, I visited Prague, Czech Republic for the Czech Yo-yo Nationals!
In Prague, the publicity for the Czech Yo-yo Nationals contest was on the subways and in the newspapers. The place itself was awesome. The stage, sound system, and lighting system were great. Also, there were many interesting performances from different areas of yo-yoing. About 300 people (including 65 contestants) showed up to this contest. The players and I were enjoying the contest and hanging out with yo-yo people from all over the world (mostly from Czech, Poland, Slovakia, and Germany). It’s clear that yo-yoing is growing in Czech. It was the one of the best contest I have ever been to.
The contest was not the only good thing about going to the Czech Republic. If you go there in the future, please go sightseeing in the oldest city in Prague! It’s soooooo beautiful and, of course, the food was delicious. It was great experience to be there!
Last, I want to say THANK YOU VERY MUCH to everybody, and especially to Ondra, Korda, Vashek, and his family!
Ahoj!!
