Things that repeat by Citadel.

One of the coolest concepts for a video i’ve seen in a long time, Gabe takes a bunch of repeater tricks, films them and then plays them forward and then in reverse one after the other. The results are incredibly hypnotic to watch.

Here’s Gabe’s description.

A bunch of repeating yoyo tricks. It’s interesting to see how time-symmetrical some tricks can be. Tricks are shown forward and in reverse. Some of the changes are very subtle, some look different but just as cool backwards, and some are clearly impossible to do in reverse. These repeating tricks were filmed during the National Yo-Yo Contest 2009 in Chico, CA on October 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, 2009.

The music is the instrumental track from “Broken Van (Thinking of You)” produced by Kno of the CunninLynguists (cunninlynguists.com & qn5.com)

US Nationals feature to appear on CBS Sunday Morning show.

Word has come in via Bob Malowney, so set your TiVo’s etc.

Here’s Bob’s original post.

I just got the word that this Sunday (18th) the ‘CBS Sunday Morning’ news program with Rita Braver will have the story of the National Yo-Yo Contest. Check when it airs in your area.

This is the film crew that followed Sebastian Brock, Paul Yath, and Joseph Harris to the Nationals and filmed for two days here in Chico so it might be a good length. I hope you can see it.

Article On Sebastian Brock.

Check out this article from Sebastian Brock’s college, William & Mary. Pretty interesting read and a nice departure from the usual “Yoyo Player has World on a string” articles we’re so used to seeing.

US Nationals less than a week away.

US Nationals is right around the corner. I don’t know about anyone else, but i’m excited!

With the emergence of the “new guard” at Worlds this year, the 1A title looks to be more open than ever before. Can new kids on the block Anthony Rojas and Chris Frasier put up a a serious challenge to the likes of Yuuki Spencer and Sebastian Brock? Will Augie finally come good? What about Tyler Severance’s ever improving 1A? Or can John Chow put together the sort of top level freestyle that we know he has in him.

5A looks to be a straight up battle once again between Miggy and Tyler, unless Samm or JonRob can take their stuff to a new level or Sterling can recapture past glories. The standard however, is sure to be higher than ever before.

You can view the list of registered competitors Here. Thoughts on who will win 2A, 3A or 4A? Disagree with me on 1A or 5A? Let us know in the comments section!
