Luke showed me this last week, but it wasn’t public until yesterday so here it is. Fresh off the back of his Sony advertising, Luke is now the star of a music video! Great work, and yet more great representation of modern yoyoing.

Hello everyone, this is Mani from NS Co.

The Northern Spin Company is proud to present our latest return top, the Helix.

Helix is a Bi-Metallic design featuring 7000 series Aluminum and 316 Stainless Steel.

Helix was to be the first NS Co. production, but we decided to move forward with Aurora instead because of the technical challenges we were facing with HELIX. This design, including AURORA is part of a series of tops known as PRIMER. Throughout all these prototypes and production tops, I was still on the quest to make the perfect 52mm return top. I am more than happy with HELIX and I think I will stop here, for 52mm that is.

Helix is very much inspired by the C22 and is made very much the same way. The density ratio of Aluminum to Steel offers a very nice weight distribution allowing an extremely fast and floaty yoyo with the MOST stability possible for its size. So although it can play as fast as a 50mm yoyo, it has the stability of a much larger yoyo, so you can slow down your play also.

Helix will include our new NS Co. CORE Bearings, a C sized ceramic bearing that is going to be our standard bearing on all future NS Co. products.

The CORE Bearing is an extremely high tolerance ABEC5 C sized Ceramic. We chose these bearings after much testing because of their consistency under all play conditions. They can be fully cleaned, lubed or played as dry as you like. However, we recommend the ‘break them in and leave them alone forever’ method for best results.

HELIX is limited to 150 units worldwide and as with all NS Co. products, will be a limited production, no more will ever be made. Available in 4 colors, Black, Clear, Green, Blue. We will start shipping to your favorite retailer this week, we are trying very hard to have these toys under your Christmas tree in time. Price is TBA, it’s up to our retailers.

Just discovered that classic arcade game Spinmaster has been rereleased via the Wii’s Virtual Console distribution service.

The game for those of you unfamiliar with it, is a classic Neo-Geo style Arcade Platformer/Beat ‘em Up, where the protagonists Johnny and Tom are armed with yo-yos!
